LaserWash

Posted by Mark

Last month I posted about a drive-through car wash near my house in which they let you sit in the car while it’s getting washed. Well a reader pointed me towards another car wash also nearby that had what he called a LaserWash. So not knowing what exactly a laser wash was I decided to pass by today and check it out.

Turns out LaserWash is a touch free automated car wash which means that it doesn’t contain brushes and nothing except water and soap touch your car. The idea is that since there is no physical contact then there isn’t anything that will scratch your car. I recorded a video of a wash which takes around 5 minutes which you could watch above. My car was just dusty except for a bug stain on the windshield. After the wash the dust was gone and the car was all shiny but the bug stain was still there.

Would I use it again? Maybe, I had to wait an hour and a half today to get the car washed which defeats the whole purpose of a quick drive through. I might have as well driven to Al Falah in Kuwait City, gotten my car washed there properly and gotten back home. But if the place is empty and my car is just dusty why not.

The LaserWash is located at the Oula gas station next to the Jawazat roundabout near Souk Salmiya. The cost was KD1.750 for just an exterior cleaning. [YouTube]

After my session at Core Fitness I passed by the Al Falah car wash in Kuwait City where the Gulf Run cars were getting all nice and shiny and having their sponsors decals stuck. I took a few pictures which you can check out below and a video which I will post later be.

Party over here!

I was at the Al Falah car wash for the Gulf Run event when I noticed that the Al Tijaria building or what I used to call the monolith now has blinking lights that also change color. It looked like it was ready to party. [YouTube]

Tonight starting at 5:30PM onwards all the cars participating in this years Gulf Run 5 will be getting a wash and sponsorship decals placed at the Al Falah Car Wash in Kuwait City. If it’s anything like the previous years it should be a fun gathering. Tomorrow the cars will be going on display at 360 Mall so if you can’t make it tonight you’ll still be able to check out all the cars this weekend.

Giveaway Day 5: Full car detailing from Al Falah

Posted by Mark

Today’s giveaway is for anyone that has a car because its a full detailing package from Al Falah Car Wash & Showshine Detailing Center. I’ve talked about them a lot and I’ve used them to detail both my Wrangler and Z4. Both occasions they returned the car to me as if it had just come out fresh from the dealership showroom. They’re also the official car wash of The Gulf Run and zDistrict has posted about his experience with them a number of times. I’ve recommended this place a lot and anyone who’s tried them can vouch for me when I say they do an incredible job.

The package they’re giving away is worth KD50 and includes an exterior and interior detailing of your car and also the engine bay. This is a great offer because your car will really look brand new once they’re done. All you need to do to win is to leave a comment below and later on in the evening I will use random.org to select a winner.

They’re located in Kuwait City, here are the contact details for the car wash and detailing if you’re interested: Mobile 65084003 and Land line 22452432

Here is a link to my previous post about them [Link]
And here are two links to zDistricts post where I’ve borrowed three photos from [Link] and [Link]

Detailing at the Al Falah Car Wash

Posted by Mark

BMW Z4

I took my car yesterday to the Al Falah car wash to get it detailed since everyone I know takes their car there. Marzouq posted about them before and last year it was the official Gulf Run car wash so it was a no-brainer choosing them to do the detailing.

I took an appointment on Saturday to drop off the car on Monday but I got lucky since someone canceled their appointment and I ended up dropping my car off on Sunday instead. The whole detailing process took 24 hours and when I went to pick up the car they told me to take all the time I wanted and to go over every inch of the car to try and find a spec of dust which as expected I didn’t find. They then told me to remove this small tape from the seats which revealed a dark red spot. Turns out that was the color of the seats when I brought it in and they were able to return it to the original red color. The exterior of the car got polished, the rims got polished, the seats got conditioned and the whole car was just sparkling.

They were really great and very professional but the best part is they aren’t an international franchise but a local business. The detailing cost me KD40, originally they quoted me KD50 but since the Z4 is like half a car I was able to negotiate the price down a bit. I would definitely recommend them so try them out if you need detailing done.. They’re located in Kuwait City (if Tri-Star is on your right, keep going straight past where Al-Mulla used to be, past the first traffic light and then take a right on the second traffic light where you will find them on the right corner). You can call them on 5084003 for an appointment.
