Madonna: Hard Candy
I just downloaded (bought) the new Madonna album from the Amazon MP3 Store; and its probably one of her better albums since Ray of Light in 98. Initially, I was going to write a long winded review talking about each track, then I realized that Vocals=Madonna and Production=Timbaland, Pharrel and Kanye West.
Yeah .. that pretty much sums it up.
She is also going to be stopping by Dubai on Nov.21st for the Hard Candy tour (good luck getting tickets).

I love the fact that there ARE Kuwaiti bloggers out there who love Madonna… It makes my heart jump a little :D lol I can’t wait to see her in November, it’s 3 days after my birthday.. I would go twice if I can get tickets for both nights!
How did you manage to download from AmazonMP3? Initially, when the service was launched, it was possible because they were looking at your billing address.
But the last time I checked, they look at your IP address and block if it is not originating from US. I believe Mark had made a post about that a while back.
I love the album, it is amazing!! I ordered the limited edition and the bonus tracks are just WOW!
Oh and I have the poster in HQ if you want, it is behind me on the wall 2x2m :)
My favorites are “Give it to me”, “She’s not me”, “the beat goes on” & “voices”.

Cool. Since I also have a US billing address, I guess the conclusion is that they are looking at the credit card (to ensure it originated in U.S.).
Any idea how I can get one of those?

Its quite simple: apply as a student, get a resident visa, apply for a social security number, build credit, apply for AMEX, get approved, get card. Your only option is to go to the States and open a bank account (you could try online).
Why go through all this fuss, there is itunes and mininova :)

My quick review (downloaded it from iTunes UK):
HATED the first single “4 Minutes”, with the annoying Timbaland who wouldn’t shut the f**k up… but Rebirth Remix is awesome!
Standout track: Miles Away, an instant classic.
Next favorites.. Candy Shop, Voices, Give it 2 Me, Beat Goes On
OK tracks: Dance 2nite, Heartbeat
Crap tracks: Incredible, She’s Not Me

As with all of her albums there are songs that you will instantly like and then get tired of soon thereafter, and there are others that will remain classics… This album’s classic is “Miles Away”
Oh and I don’t like the cover photo… she looks too slutty for her age!
US Credit Card & Billing, then you are good to go!
I didn’t want to buy it but after I gave it a little listen, it started to grow on me. I’m downloading it from iTunes right now…

I DLed the album since the leakage day. Phenomenal album, at first I didn’t like it but after grasping the album little by little -BOOM, one of the best albums since a long time ago. She strikes again.
My favorite song from the album is Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You, followed by iTunes’ bonus track Ring My Bell. All in all, perfection.
I’m really looking forward to the deluxe edition of the album, but I don’t think Aramex can bring it to Kuwait, am I right? (the cover is a taboo, I think :P )

I’m gonna be the lone ranger on this one. I got the CD and really hated it. Her vocals sound so strained on it (especially on she’s not me). I just can never finish that song.
I find overall the production value is very basic and makes me think of her ‘pre-madonna’ days in the early 80s before Everybody. And then there’s the lyrics…Anyone that sings ‘my sugar is raw’ is just tacky.
Love Madge, but I’m gonna pass on this one.
