3G iPhone next month?
I placed an order for an iPhone a week ago and thought something went wrong when I didn’t receive a tracking number after a few days (They usually ship them within a day). After checking the order status, I found out that the iPhone isn’t going to be shipped out until May 13th; which is almost a month after my initial order.
In addition to knowing Apple’s history of keeping quiet about new products and the pending rumors about the new iPhone .. I am guessing that the 3G iPhone is released next month. If this does turn out to be the new iPhone, I wouldn’t suggest purchasing one until the current unlock method is confirmed to be working.

It’s clear that WWDC will focus on development for iPhone, and since they announced the iPhone 2.0 platform earlier this year and that was all about software, it would make sense for them to announce something new in terms of hardware one year after the iPhone went on sale.

I believe there are some big things coming up in WWDC, however its still a month after my iphone is set to ship. Its not like Apple to launch an important product without an event.

IT’s already been end of lifed in the UK where 3g is (slightly) more popular than in the US
They will discontinue the 8 GB iPhone. You will probably get a 16 GB instead for the same price. They had a supply problem with the 8GB iPhone for more than a month now.

That could be true .. but why didn’t they just ship it then, I am sure they have tons of 16gbs in stock. I am pretty sure they would phase out the old ones when iPhone2 is released.

I have also heard that the reason for the shortage of stock in the Apple Stores is because they have been shipping a ton of stock to Dubai and therefore they are running short.
UK Stock has sold out and it has been announced as End of Line.
i want an iphone sooooo bad ive been waiting for the unlocked one for so long and then i hear its coming out in 2009 :(

I guess they want to sell all 8 GB in all countries first and then sell the 16GB for $399. I think we might see 3G plus other features in Jun.

i can’t believe at this point some people are starting to think about ordering the iphone , you either bought one already or you didn’t . besides iphones now are splattered allover used phone stores here for a dime a dozen so why order new one and wait for a month, i got one from hawali for 80 kd
