Coconut Crab

Coconut Crab

I saw this picture of the garbage bin and thought it was a fake crab climbing it but it turned out to be a real one! It’s a Coconut Crab which is the largest land living crab. It’s called Coconut Crab because of its ability to crack open coconuts. [Link]

Its from Guam noobs. That one is a baby, we used to ride on the adults for transportation. Everyone eats the babies so they never get to their full adult size.

well guys sorry to bust your bubble. but this crab is real and very strong too. to think that we have a hard time to hold a baby one with two hands.. this one will chop you in half… and it’s here on the island of guam…. this crab is not afraid of humans. a baby one will chop the digits right off you hand…..

this pic was taking in guam……! you people got to get it straight….!
If the Ayuyu is this big it would be called “taotao mona`” it would take at least 5 to 10 people to catch. The meat would be ok to eat if its this big….but it would be better if it was younger. YES……! the meat is the bomb…but you have to cook it with coconut milk…………well i guess you just have to a islander to know…..lol

    guahanchild…!

The two people above me are nutty. Coconut crabs cannot chop you in half, and it does not take 5-10 people to catch one unless they are in wheelchairs. Coconut crabs are slow as hell and very easy to catch as long as you watch the pincers, because a big male can take your hand off.

    Also, they are delicious.
