Leopard

Leopard

I got the latest version of OS X with me from London and I installed it today and its pretty cool. No major upgrades but instead lots of tiny ones here and there. My biggest concern was the dock, I was worried I wasn’t going to like the redesigned version but not I don’t think I can go back to the old one. Overall Leopard is just much prettier. I am now going to just format my Macbook and reinstall it again fresh. I don’t have a particular reason for doing it other then its a good way for clearing up space.

    how about if i get the family pack for me and my room mates in college? will it work on all three?

    u can get the single user pack and it would work on all three macs. Apple isn’t anal like Microsoft with security checks and computer activations and shit.

    Tiger works fine with me, why would I upgrade?

    I’ll stay with my mac for another 2 years and then buy a new one with the latest os x

    you don’t have to upgrade, its not compulsory, its a just an option.

    I will be getting my upgrade soon, was the install easy peasy? I thought i will just get the new osx and breath some life into my power book, instead of buying a new one just yet. Macs last longer than PC’s

    very easy, u click “continue” like twice in the beginning and it then installs everything and reboots in less than an hour. very easy.

    yeah so does Tiger. I don’t have any links to show you the “how to” steps but i dont think it should be too difficult to find.

    do u think leopard will work fully if i just download it as a torrent??

  12. 12. Mark | October 30th, 2007 at 4:40 pm

    i guess it should. Sometimes they remove stuff to keep the download size down so I don’t know if the same applies here.

    Mark, the interface probably didn’t get much upgrade but internally the leopard is amazing, its so much better than Tiger.
    you wouldn’t appreciate it as a normal user but as a computer scientist the evolution is amazing.

    bb, I don’t think you can use your iPod as Time Machine backup. I’ve read that in a review. You can only use it on external drives connected to a firewire or a USB or on a computer with shared volume. However, someone posted a work around on how to use it on an airport base station hard drive.

    ipod = external harddrive
    so it should be doable but i havent tried or read on this

    Yeah, I just installed it yesterday and it is very sleek. Just like you said, no big upgrades but cool minor features that are really worthy.
