Microsoft Vista vs Apple OS X

Fadibou sent me a link to an article comparing Vista to Tiger. Whats cool about the article is that it shows how superior Apple’s OS X is. Through out the whole article the writer compares the 2 products and then talks about how Apple does it better and the coolest thing about all this is that Vista is coming out late 2006 while Apple’s OS X has been around since 2001! Microsoft is still playing catchup to Apple, and now that Apple is going to be using Intel chips, Macs will be cheaper and their market share will grow. Next year is going to be a great year for Apple. [Link]

Windows is copy apples software .. apple is copying the hardware. I wish they would just release OSX for the PC with support for windows software and get it over with.

easier said than done. New Windows Vista is so advanced, Apple users can try it and switch if they want, each has its own market but Windows is getting to become the coolest operating system, not just the most popular.

dude, apple is setting the trend while microsoft is copying. how is that making microsoft cool?

Windows = Cool? Not in this life time. Unless you enjoy restarting your PC cause it froze or crashed or something.

Vista looks so dull, I don’t see how Windows has an advantage over OSX. Except for the games, but I’m not a PC gamer, so that’s all solved.

Just tested the BETA of Vista today and Fadi is right, Windows is super Cool, you will not believe the dynamic user interfaces, never seen a better executed OS, watch ou Apple we’re gonna take a huge BYTE!!!

I thought the vista beta was trash ..

Mark knows how much I like Apple and I am not trying to undermine Mac OS but the new Vista is miles ahead when its released, its a different breed. Although its playing catchup with Apple on some of the features, the innovations in it are from somewhere beyond Apple future plans.

fadibou, i don’t think you understand what Mark is trying to say. Vista is trying to play catchup with an OS that has been out for ages. That’s sort of pathetic, Apple’s competition for Vista is Leopard and it’ll probably be released around the sametime.

Personally… I can’t stand Macs. And I am not a hippie faux-hacker that thinks Linux is the righteous path to all things computing. I like my windows. And I will say it again.. Vista is utter garbage right now.

“the new Vista (WILL BE) is miles ahead when its released”

Maybe the torrent I downloaded was a sick joke by the legions of anti-windows people. You know who I am talking about… the people who try to stick Linux into anything that has a circuit. “I can SSH into my toaster!” OR maybe I am still mad at Microsoft for releasing WindowsME… I still have nightmares because of that pathetic excuse for an operating system.

One more time for good measure. Vista(Beta) is trash.

i seemed to have missed out on the vista release, can someone fill me in on the great innovations of vista that will blow os x out of the water? we already know when it comes to the user interface and security apple is already will remain ahead. we know when it comes to stability apple will also remain ahead due to its control over the hardware. ease of use apple will be ahead. whats left?

Ok, I just saw screenshots of Windows Vista, this argument is over. Now I know that Fadibou has been brainwashed! I think when he went to the conference in the States they brainwashed him like in the movie Cypher hehe

I did try a MAC and I hate it, way to childich for me me to use, I am not into fancy interfaces, but again i am a Dino from the DOS era. Windows might be playing catch up to Mac OS however with Vista, Mac is left in the dirt and thats a fact Mark.

Does anyone have anything technically intelligent to say or is it all about looks?

Well I prefer the way OS X works… everything just fits in… dont get me wrong I love XP too… it’s just Vista right now seems full of bloat and features I really dont need in the long-run. All I do is Painter and Photoshop, modo, a little scripting here and there and Warcraft. Vista’s eyecandy made my eyes sore after a while. I’m not gonna pay a shitload just to turn all that eyecandy off.
