Snow Leopard just shipped
My order for Snow Leopard just shipped from Amazon. Its supposed to be performance improvement over version 10.5 and also has a lot of small improvements here and there. If you have a Mac (Intels only) and you haven’t ordered your copy yet you should, its just KD7.250! [Amazon Link]

KD 50? Hope that’s the price of the Mac Box Set. Not the upgrade :|

I ordered the family pack two days ago! 50 kd ha Frankom? ;p. I payed 50$ for 5 licenses. I hate the prices here in a Kuwait. Can’t wait to receive it. Mark, you forget to mention that the upgrade only works on Mac’s that already have Leopard installed on it, not Tiger.

Mark
i have installed it this morning on both my macbook and macbook pro, the system i think is running more smoothly and certainly faster, but i had problem with my msn and amsn messenger , they both stopped working .
i got the family pack for 5 licence for 59$ canadian
na9er , for the tiger i think you have to get extra software.
im coming to kuwait on monday so i see a demand for the upgrade , might get some extra cash in :P.

La na9er it doesn’t matter what version of mac os x u have. the only problem is concerned with weither you have intel macs or not. Also, although the $29- version is called ‘upgrade disc’, the disc actually allows you to erase and install a clean version of snow leopard.

Do you need to get leopard then snow leopard? or can you get this straight away?

I’ve installed it last night. Nothing major, but I like the quicktime10 plays video without the frame. :)

Na6er & Richie:
The $29 version is upgrade for Leopard and the DVD include the full OS. However, it is basically a license upgrade agreement and there are no checks for Leopard and you can install it on any Mac OS version including Tiger. It is basically an upgrade license agreement and the DVD perform no checks for previous versions of Mac OS.

Its 25$ not 29$ on Amazon and it upgrades on Tiger as well.

@Na9er,
Good on you. You are a very honest man buying the family pack, The single user version can be installed on any number of computers without issue by the way, though that is, of course, contrary to the EULA.
By the way, I’m currently in California, have bought Snow Leopard ($29) and installed it without issue on my wife’s old Tiger running Intel MacBook. So…

Sorry a newbie here.

Click on the small apple icon on the top left corner on your screen, choose “about this mac” and you will get your system and processor details.

20. Frankom | August 29th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
the new one i think is 10.6
21. Israa | August 29th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
The snow leopard is an upgrade to 10.6. What you have is I think the latest before the snow leopard.

can i upgrade my OS and keep all of my current settings? Will i have to reactivate any of my programmes?
23. Mark | August 29th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
If you upgrade everything stays the same, all your preferences, applications etc..

I ordered mine the day it came out. I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival. The native exchange support is a great benefit. No more need for the overpriced Office 2008 and Entourage :)
