1979 BMW M1 for sale

BMW M1

Will someone in Kuwait please buy this car? Someone is selling a 1979 BMW M1 on eBay for KD50,000 which is a steal when you consider the fact that soulless Gallardos go for more. This is one really incredible car. [eBay]

It’s a 1984 BMW M1. The description is wrong. This pictures
prove it was made in 1984 :

This is a super cool car, and some of us will never understand why buy a 1959 Merc for 150,000KD, I digress. In the early 70’s Italian manufacturer Lamborghini entered into an agreement with BMW to build a racing which resulted in the birth of the M1. the racing version were capable of producing around 850 hp. This is not a car, this is a piece of history and it is not meant for everyday driving.

Mohammed: I think Jan is the date of production, I dont know what 84 is but its not 1984, maybe its week 84 of production. Last M1 was built in 1981

I remember when those first came out and they were at the BMW dealership in Washington, DC. OMG the car was gorgeous and way ahead of its time in terms of technology. That is a real collector’s item. Somebody call Sheikh Nasser!

1979 BMW M1 VIN # WBS 5991000 4301231 An already rare and collectible automobile, the BMW M1 has begun a steady rise in value as more collectors recognize its significance and scarcity. The car offered here is even rarer! Delivered in 1980 by Styling Garage Spezialkarosserien of Hamburg with numerous cosmetic modifications reminiscent of the all-out racing M1s. “”At this time the car would enter the collection of the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani. “”

    Week 84?
    Isn’t there 52 weeks in a year?

Have you been to the BMW Museum in Munich? It’s awesome. Got to see the GINA too :)

ch: yeah there are 52 weeks a year which means if production on this car started in 1978 (which it did), week 84 of production would mean the car was made in 1979.

here is my post on the bmw museum
