It’s funny, last night I saw an old school Patrol (ie. early-to-mid-90s model) driving down the Corniche here in Abu Dhabi, and I thought to myself, “That’s a great looking car.” It’s squareness is so old it’s new again.

And then you show me this.

Its not that bad comparing it to 08 Land cruiser , the sad thing is all New SUVs lost the Bad ass look of the 90’s ! Glad they made the FJ Cruiser classic look , shamefully they gona end the production on 2010 .

actually it looks pretty good especially from the inside and the front, it looks very similar to the current patrol, so its a nice evolution from the current one two thumbs up!

Patrol seems to have lost its bad ass macho image. the front end looks good and is instantly recognizable as a Nissan but that rear end is just horrible !

Looks like they merged the back end of an Mit Outlander with the front end of a Range Sport….. still UGLY .. I am with mark on this I’d take the 08 Land Cruiser over this any day

Looks like a Pajero to me but the interior is great ! did anyone notice that they have an iDrive !! like the one that BMW invented with the current BMW 7 series !

Nissan please change how it looks from the back! I usually perfer the Patrol over the land cruiser but I dont know about the new one.. very nice interior, it looks really nice from the front especially how the roof tilts down like the GTR ;) but from the back it look gay !

wow it looks absolutely disgusting, similar to the land cruiser but actually even worse.
They really just RAPED the old boxy look with all these horrible puffy jap-style curves.

the armada looks weird but is actually interesting, esp in the infinity trim where it looks like a scary train with the huge grill. This is just lame and looks too much like the horrible new landcruiser.

I have been a patrol owner for sometime and scoffed at the look at the new offering by toyota but not anymore all that pent up anticipation for whats next by Nissan was a waste of time, surely the executives at nissan are having a lend of us and the executives at toyota must be rolling around in their offices laughing their collective heads off, back to the drawingboard nissan PLEASE!!! and try and redeem yourselves!!

i think it looks better than the current patrol and should replace the armada. rest of the world the patrol has an old woeful 4.8il6 and a 3.0 4 cylinder diesel and both engines needs to be put to death
there is meant to be the 5.6V8 and the Renault diesel sooner the new body comes out the better

actully its better than the landcruser and ithink its performance will be too ….its not better than the previous patrol they lft the off road style by doing this its breaks my heart whn i saw my fav car in this look but ithink we feel in this way cuz we didnt get use on its look yet …so dnt judge the book frm its cover……and the gd thing is its breakin the landcruser like alwys go and sleep toyota luvers u dnt hve to play the game wid nissan patrol cuz u the ruselts is for nissa n alwys… u depnd on ur spare parts only

This design is no good for the Patrol – lacks direction or cohesion ie the front and back ends totally do not match the theme.
The rear end is hideous and infact from the full rear on this model looks like a mpv / van.
The front square on is okay but then again lacks the required squareness from the dropping sides.
The landcruiser is pretty ugly from the rear but this new Patrol is worse.
The only reddeming thing about this is the interior.
I actually think Nissan should go back to the drawing board.

This is just awful, and so stupid from Nissan. The Patrol had a distinctive look. This looks like any other bland, boring, compromised, middle of the road SUV. Its just another example of a product trying to appeal to everyone by treading the middle ground. Has no one got any guts anymore.

If the price has gone up, then I would now certainly consider the Land Cruiser 100 instead, which is probably a slighlty better car. I think Nissan Patrol owners looking to renew their car will no either look to the Landcruiser 100, or a Landrover Defender or the new FJ Cruiser.

The only thing I can hope for is that this is all clever tactics to boost sales of the latest Patrol, menaing that they are still being produced so anyone thinking of a new Patrol will quickly go out and buy a new ‘old shape’ instead of this ‘boiled sweet’. Hopefully we will soon learn that its release will be ‘put back for 24months’ (and then never hear of it again, but I think that is wishfull thinking.

What a shame Nissan!!!!!!
