I am spanish and have always wondered why there is no Spanish restaurant in Kuwait since they seem to have all other forms of global cuisines. I realize that a) people are scared of most of the Spanish seafood and crustations b) Spaniards use pork in so many things c) tapas without wine is not the same. Bringing a Spanish restaurant to Kuwait would have to involve stealing the cuisine’s very soul…punto.

I love Paella….. I don’t know about any Spanish restos here in kuwait but you can find Paella @ Dean & Deluca’s for 8KD (approx) per KG. Haven’t tried it yet though.

Paella is originally an Arabic word which is baqeya

when spain was ruled by islamic leader they used to give the spanish prisoners the remained food which is baqeyat el akel

On a totally separate issue, does anyone know of a F/O cable damaged in the persian gulf? Just got this news from kems a week ago and its still under repair. Looks like kems is the only one affected by this. I have a 512K link and its just unbelievably slow.
