To the comment made by Jose back on March 11th….(Spanish food is generally horrible)….I can only say that you urgently need to check your taste buds with the doctor…run…
I guess you haven’t really tried our food and that you are one of the tourist who skips the really Spanish restaurants and go only to eat to McDonalds. Or maybe you haven’t spent enough time in Spain to really enjoy the variety of our cuisine.
In any case, I obviously disagree with you. Spanish food is one of the best of the world and our diet doesn’t make you fat (unless you pig out of course…but that would happen with any food)

Fantastic decor. Try looking for a bar called ‘No se lo dice nadie’. We used to frequent it at about 2 am. The Madrilenos are interesting people- they get up early for work, come home and have a siesta and eat around 9 or 10 pm, then hit the streets until about 3.Not unlike Kuwait, but without the sangria.

According to folklore, the Kerala Restaurant on the moon is the oldest. Started by someone, I forgot whom, who flew on the Calicut Express Meteor which crashed on the moon somewhere in the 9th Century. It’s been serving only chaya & paya with poori & chapathis ever since

I’ve been there..they have THE BEST lamb dish EVER! and at night they have the spanish guitar singers that walk around people singing old spanish songs..great atmosphere.!

Another claim to be the world’s oldest restaurant is made by Stiftskeller St. Peter in Salzburg, which has been in existence since 803 AD, since the time of emperor Charlemagne.
