Sony Vaio P

Has anyone purchased the tiny Vaio P netbook yet? They’re selling on Amazon for around KD260. Its more expensive than the regular netbooks costing around twice as much but it’s also less than half the size.

If not mistaken, I saw this in Eurica for more than 500KD can someone confirm this ?

One of the reviews says that there will be an upgraded version after a while, so don’t waste your money now and wait for upgrades.
I’m currently using a VGN-TX27GP, it’s one of the smallest VAIO laptops and this VAIO P is smaller and has the same features as my current laptop and even better in some things, it will make a good replacement.
VAIOs in general are fine. I should mention though that even though my VAIO has endured a lot, yet one day the hard disk died and everything was gone, I replaced it for 100KD, other than that everything has been okay with my VAIO, I have been using it for years now.
On another note, aren’t narwhals awesome!? I made up my mind about my next laptop, thanks for sharing Mark.

I think I’ll stick to $350 netbooks for the throw in a bag stuff.

The M Code:
This is NOT faster than your laptop! Yours is Pentium 1.2 Ghz and this is Atom 1.3 Ghz.
Atom processors are made for netbooks cause of their tiny size and less power consumption.

I was asking the same thing, I’m looking to get it from UK because the US model has EVDO mobile broadband locked to Verizon, the UK/Europe model does not it’s for 849 pounds but still you get to insert your sim card into the compartment below the battery and get HSDPA/3G Internet, saves that dongle for you.
I am trying to see if any UK stores have it in stock so I would let someone get it from me there, so if anyone knows where it’s available I’d appreciate to know about it.
Thanks

I forgot the design number but the 10 inch Vaio is selling for 650+ KD at Sony which is really absurd. I’m sure the 8 will be hitting 900 or something.

You can get Macbook Air refurbished for $999 at Apple Store with faster processor, bigger HDD, and without Vista.

Can the build-int Satellite (GPS) work in Kuwait or only USA?
19. KA fan | February 13th, 2009 at 6:34 am
Oh and mark, when you arrived from Dubai – Kuwait via wataniya airways first class, were you taken from the aircraft – the terminal via private car or did you have to get stuck with other passengers onboard?

I wouldn’t go with a Sony Vaio…It’s all eye candy and no substance. Sony is only good (i think) for cameras, tv’s and ps3.

Arrived last week .. very cool device, it has vga/lan capability with a samll attachment.

Received it yesterday, light n lovely. seems great for size. weight and the extra wide screen is perfect. as am a Mac user. the preloaded vista feels packed with unnecessary software. guess i need to get used to it. Sony insists that it’s a notebook not a netbook!

One of my friends has it. It’s quite small and light, he brings it everyday to school. I think it’s quite nice, but a Sony Vaio’s doesn’t really have a good reputation.

i think its way over priced, me personly im waiting for the dell mini 10 and if u dont want to wait then the asus 1000he would be great but the dell mini 10 should have an hdmi port and an hd screen

any special info or spec u need about it ?
i did recieved the red one ill try to get u some real pics. soon .
26. Mark | February 13th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
lfc-q8: I already added the 1000HE to my wish list. The keyboard plus the 8 hour battery life makes it very tempting. AND it costs only KD110.
27. Dave | February 13th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
Haven’t you already got a netbook Mark? I think I’ll wait for a major processor upgrade, Ion or whatever, before I get shot of my 1000H. The 1000HE is just another minor upgrade to allow them to release yet another model (to add to the 2000 they’ve already released in this segment).
28. holla | February 13th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
vaios are awesome, my last one lasted me for years until i sold it with no problems. My new TZ (11″screen, DVD drive) is the smallest full-function laptop on the market. sony know their shit.
29. lfc-q8 | February 13th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
