    My 4G was having the same issues, I opened it up and reseated the cables (which could happen by dropping it from 3 floors). These things are pretty rigid, and since it was dead i had nothing to lose.

    my brother sent me his 4G ipod cuz of the same problem, going to open it up first before dropping it from 3 floors

    Crack it open, reseat the hard drive and you will be good to go.

    i droped my blue gay ass ipod off of a building in florda and it started working again
