Alshaya in Moscow

starbucks moscow

I was just checking the Alshaya website for info on their new Italian restaurant when I found an article on the first Starbucks that opened up in Moscow last month. It was a joint venture between M.H. Alshaya Co. and Starbucks Coffee International. I thought that was pretty cool. [Link]

Still can’t find any info though on their new restaurant. A friend told me they opened up an Italian restaurant in The Avenues and supposedly its really good.

That is really cool that they have expanded this much. Their retail business has expanded and I hope it keeps expanding outside the country and more.

I had a meeting in their head office today, and they say that will start their own brands soon.
For the restaurant. I know that Romano’s Macaroni Grill will open soon in the Avenues is it by Alshaya?

The opening of Starbucks in Russia was delayed by a squatter (Sergei A. Zuykov) who asked for $ 600,000 to give up his registration rights. Starbucks did not pay and eventually won the case when Russia applied for the WTO.

Anyone have a clue how much each Starbucks in Kuwait sells per day?

Trying to estimate Starbucks sales for Kuwait alone. There are over 55 now in Kuwait, or so I heard.

If its Italo then its owned by the same people as Le Notre. Its the one open somewhere in the center like its on a bridge or something. It can’t be Il forno since as Abdullah said thats the one at the Courtyard.

Also note, Al Shaya has opened up stores in Turkey a while back as well.

Alshaya’s new Italian restaurant “Al Forno” - opened today 13th October. It is right next to H&M and opposite Lenotre. They have inside seating and when weather permits, they will have outside seating by the fountains.

I should really stop reading the archive..
anyway, Starbucks saudi raised their prices 3 times in the last 4 years,
2 SR then 1SR on extras (so 1 extra espresso is 3sr not 2 etc) then a very recent increase by 2SR in Ramadan.

I bought a nespresso now :) make my own lattes and stuff heh
