Bvlgari and Zain

What do they have in common? Well yesterday I was sitting with the creative director of FutureBrand who designed the Zain identity and it turns he also designed the Bvlgari logo. Now that’s pretty cool.
Update: FutureBrand are one of the leading branding agencies in the world, I think they are in the top 3 or top 5.

btw are u sure its the same person? or is it just the same name? cuz there is a guy called Valentino who designs the hala feb theaters and he think himself an international famous designer… but he’s really not the true Valentino designer!

I agree the Zain Logo is very very very ugly.
The colors are soooo crappy!
6. Ansam | March 5th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
yeah he did not do well with the ZAIN logo! Should he have used different colors at least!

i have a feeling that the creator of the ZAIN logo is the same dude that did the CINESCAPE logo. (same colors, effect and “space-like” look)!

Cinescape logo was done in Dubai by a different branding agency.

Zain is probably the ugliest, crappiest Logo design ever made.
Bulgari logo is cool and chic.

i think one has to look at the whole Zain campaignein order to appreciate the efforts done,, and there is some PINK at the end of the Zain Ads on TV.. One also has to measure how good the Zain campaign is by how fast you forgot the MTC Logo!
16. crocko rock | March 5th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Tan Go, I still call it MTC….

Everytime i look at zain logo i feel like the 80’s is back, or disco era. The negetive thing about the logo is its very retro. Alot of people expected something more modern.

jaja I no longer have time for childish immature remarks like yours and I have already said this before.

All I could see was that the width of BVLGARI logo is somewhat equal to height of ZAIN logo. So maybe he uses same aspect ratio (original or inverse) in his logos. The ZAIN logo has golden ratio as far as I can tell.
What do they have in common? Pls tell us!
22. Mark | March 6th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
dude the fact that they are designed by the same person is the thing in common!
23. Damon Dash | March 7th, 2008 at 3:24 am
actually i think it’s sad more than cool that zain got riped off by that logo compared to BVLGARI , i’m sure it even cost more too… what a rip off…
24. Hussein | March 16th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Impossible, am really chocked, Bvlgariis so simple and applicable with good typography,
But Zain is immature and silly I hate the new Zain branding, its make me sick.

Does anyone understand the term “Logo philosophy” ?
I hope you guys go through the Zain logo philosophy to see what it represents then give your comments!
I see that the logo fits what it represents! Go Go Zain :)

Well, as a Senior Brand Consultant at SGC Nigeria, I think that these logos have nothing in common. However, there are a few kudos to the design articulated by their colors with respect to their purpose.
The ZAIN logo is quite unique for a telecoms corporation, and it really has power and expression, but it is too timid in the youthful perspective. BVGALRI on the other hand has a sense of style and maturity good for fashion, luxury, and strong personalities that people would literally die for. But, in all – the designers are probably deeply intuitive, and thus have come up with designs that thrill their own personal brand experience.

looks like people don’t read the whole post :P
29. Hussein | January 22nd, 2009 at 12:10 pm
No they read the whole post,
But because most people hate Zain logo and the whole brand.
It’s visually limited and consumed; and soon they will discover that it restricting them in a very narrow creativity area.
And then I think they will reconsider the whole branding solution.
