Craigslist Kuwait

I’ve always wanted Craigslist to open a Kuwait section and it looks like they just did. Check kuwait.craigslist.org, they’ve even kept the erotic section which should be interesting!

  4. Nasser says:

    Still sort of empty.

  5. Mark says:

  7. Didn’t they get into bother last year for posting something linked with paedophelia?

  8. darkwolf80s says:

Ok this may sound like a noob question but how exactly does Craigslist work in general? Yo ninesixfive since you’ve been using it before could explain how the system works? PM me on the forums. Thanks.

    Mish :
    the ero section

  10. moe80s says:

    blocked! by Zain

  11. the ero section was where they had ads for child prostitutes and got into trouble in may in the states

  12. samurai says:

Awesome! Thought it’s not listed under countries.

@darkwolf80s: It’s basically a classifieds site. Pretty easy to use, though hideous to look at.

  13. Mark says:

Thats is a very good article in Wired about why Craigslist looks the way it does.

  14. lunardream says:

god, I hated checking stuff on dubai site for gulf ads
not, we have kuwait and hope its improves over time

  15. Fa says:

The latest issue? I left mine on my desk and it magically disappeared
To everyone saying parts of it are already blocked; they always have been, the casual encounters section of the site was blocked for every city previously.

Plus I’m pretty sure they block by metatag and don’t go through and manually block every single site, that’s what the complaint feature is supposed to address. Correct me if I’m wrong

  16. Marko says:

You wasted no time posting this after I sent you the link last night. You’re good..keep up the good work and this is definitely now of my my favorite blogs.

  17. samurai says:

@Mark: I didn’t read the article but the simple fact is that they didn’t invest any effort into the look and feel of craigslist at launch. Later, they were too hesitant to do a redesign because regular users would get bamboozled by the change.

In any case, even though it looks hideous, content is really what classifieds comes down to and craigslist has no serious competition yet.

  18. Name is Bond says:

Kuwait seriously lacks a good classified listing site….closest was 248am. I hope they have a huge list….

  19. 3azeez says:

    erotic section is blocked ;/

  20. faisal says:

i thinlk it will be closed soon…. why??
    check out the PERSONALS column

  21. Mark says:

samurai: its an interesting article and wired had 3 or 4 people present redesigns for craigslist. According to the founder though a redesign is not something people are asking for so if its not broken why fix it…

  22. talli says:

you guys should check out gumtree….its pretty much like craiglist but more UK oriented(though now they are in many other cities worldwide too!!)….and the interface is MUCH MUCHH BETTER….chek it out at gumtree.com

  23. gunsmoke says:

This won’t work, the Dubai one is extremely inactive and it has been around for a long time now.

  24. Realist says:

Mark, If someone contributed with a link or story, why not credit it to him / her ?

  25. Mark says:

Realist: For someone thats been checking my blog for a long time I am surprised you think I don’t. I always give credit unless people contribute with the nickname anonymous.

  26. killahclowns says:

    YEEEEEAAAAAAH!

I think it is great I just got here a couple of months ago and hope it will help me to find things for my apartment. I hate to buy some things new and if someone else is leaving Kuwait then they may want to get rid of some of the same items I may need.
Hope it gets going and the word gets out. It is a great tool I used it in the states and had great results.
