Fan death

Fan death is an urban legend that originated in South Korea, but has since spread to other countries in the Far East. The belief is that an electric fan, if left running overnight in a closed room, can result in the death (by suffocation, poisoning, or hypothermia) of those inside. This belief also extends to air conditioners and the fans in cars. When the air conditioner or fan is on in a car, some people are apt to leave their car windows open a crack to avoid “fan death.” Fans manufactured and sold in Korea are equipped with a timer switch that turns them off after a set number of minutes, which users are frequently urged to set when going to sleep with a fan on. People say that in India too, but there is a reason behind it. They dont want people wasting electricity, so they make up these types of excuses so that people will consume less.

hmmm instead of 7amlat il tarsheed ilee ib millions we should come up with isha3at (mokayef death!) if you keep your AC running 24 hours you will die… of course if you dont open it you will die as well like a bar B Qued chicken yet you can have else where to go like avenues or marina and you would have to buy stuff so the merchants will benefit and the economy will be stronger! all it costs is one rumor, one sms, and one of those magazines or newspapers that would lie to your face in broad day light shamelessly… and voila… electricity problem solved!

or they can just do the same thing as the fire extinguishers. you can have a powerful politician get a brand of power saving light bulbs and then change the law to say that incandescent bulbs are to be banned, everyone has to use LED and power saving bulbs from this day forth. Politician gets rich, country uses less power, everyone is happy happy.
