Harlequin Babies
Someone emailed me a video today showing a really freaky looking baby. You can check the video [Here] but its not for the faint of heart.
It turns out the baby had a severe skin disease and that these babies are usually called Harlequin Babies. I found a lot of information about these babies online and its really sad. If you are interested in finding out more here are some links. Again they are pretty graphic so you might not want to check them.

Nana, They don’t live long, i took the liberty of reading the links provided, and one of them stated that they don’t live long, if i recall correctly 14 weeks, and with meds and stuff they were able to prolong it to months, and in one case 3 yrs, and in another 9 yrs. So i think the life expectancy of a baby born with this disease isn’t very long.

Thank Allah that he has created us normal and we are able to function properly…
It’s really very saddening and Allah can have anyone’s baby to be born like this…
I have no words man, that video just totally depressed me…and in my opinion, a harlequin baby shouldn’t have meds to extend their life, it’s just a challenge for them to live with, and most people wont accept them in society either…they should be given an easy painless death at birth itself thru some of those new easy killing injections they use in switzerland for ppl who want to commit suicide without pain …since its legal there…

il 7amdella 3ala il ni3ma ilee akramna feeha.. that clip just totally changed my mood 180degrees.. =/ I couldnt watch the whole thing. What really annoyed me is the idiot who kept moving her hands and feet, i bet the skin was ripping and causing the poor like pain! =/

I had a baby born like this, and it’s sad to see people not wanting these babibes to leave. When you look at your child…you see no indifference and you see a beautiful baby. All they need is comfort and love, until god takes them away
