How evil are you?

I just took a Machiavelli personality test and I somehow scored a 74 which is very close to being evil. I don’t know how that happened… [Link]

The Machiavelli personality test has a range of 0-100
Your Machiavelli score is: 74
You are a high Mach, you endorse Machiavelli’s opinions.

Most people fall somewhere in the middle, but there’s a significant minority at either extreme.

I wouldn’t get too worked up with the test score if I were you - at some level defining evil is culture specific and temporal.
So take a chill pill, mate!

I would say only 3/5 of those questions are directly related to being evil.

74, omg i’m so evil. Maybe it’s the true personality, the one we don’t want people to see, as everyone is wearing a mask

Well, Machiavelli was never evil. He can be considered to be the father of all politicians. He is to politics what Shakespeare is to English Literature.

Machiavelli believed its better to be feared then loved. I don’t think you can be feared by being nice.

  28. 28. ran | April 23rd, 2006 at 9:38 am

You cannot be feared by being nice. But not being nice necessarily doesnot mean being evil. I have to shout at my 2 & half year old not to put her finger near the electric socket. I am definitly not being nice to her but does that make me evil ?

  29. 29. Mark | April 23rd, 2006 at 9:41 am

Yeah but you wouldnt electrecute your whole family to teach your 2 and a half year old sister electricity is dangerous. But thats what Machiavelli would do. He is extreme.

  30. 30. ran | April 23rd, 2006 at 9:50 am

lol…clarification….she is not my 2 & half year old sister…..she is my 2 & half year old daughter

  31. 31. Mark | April 23rd, 2006 at 9:53 am

    lol sorry

  32. 32. ran | April 24th, 2006 at 11:14 am

“Because how one ought to live is so far removed from how one lives that he who lets go of what is done for that which one ought to do sooner learns ruin than his own preservation: because a man who might want to make a show of goodness in all things necessarily comes to ruin among so many who are not good. Because of this it is necessary for a prince, wanting to maintain himself, to learn how to be able to be not good and to use this and not use it according to necessity.”

This is not evil. This may be against our moral & ethical thoughts, but very practical & certainly not evil. Excerpts from ‘The Prince’, by Machiavelli.
