Qanim al Othman “ may he rest in peace” who was the first Arab and Gulf national to set sail around the world in a record time of 1.5 years, during which he crossed 30,000 nautical miles on a 46-foot boat.and was killed in an airplane crash.

The first Kuwaiti female pilot, and possibly the first Arab female pilot (correct me if wrong please) was SHARIFA AL MULLA, who obtained her pilot license in the early 60's while studying in Cambridge, U.K. 

Al Qabas published some cool black and white pics of her at the cockpit of one of those old one-seater "convertible" aircrafts wearing the goggles and pilot head gear..way cool.

I tried retirieving them from the Qabas website with no luck. If anyone can obtain them, please, do share.

Buruki, on the other hand, is the first female Commercial Pilot.
