Al-Taher sells all sorts of lingerie and women's nightwear/loungewear.

They have always had a man sitting at the cash register. I noticed yesterday that the female assistant discreetly ran the scanner on the merchandise in the bag but the man collected the money.

I find it uncomfortable to have men, gay or not, working in the women's lingerie department or shop. He would have to be pretty professional in his attitude.

There used to be an well-known shop in Kuwait where an older Arab man worked who could tell a woman's cup size and offer her a suitable bra just by looking at her breasts.

Men or women dont really matter, what matters is that I am clueless to why would the ministry spend time on this? Dont they have better things to do? I thnk they should give every person in the ministry a fine every time they come up with a stupid idea like this...And give the poor street workers the money. I guess they would be rich within a month...

For the recored I see more Kuwaity Gay people than I see expat gay... how come? Fucked up statement Nael...!!!!

It should be the decission of the store owner (and the customers at the end of the day), and it is normal to have Women there as salespersons... or gay's. But a law... I think this country has more serious problems...

Is not about your nationality, your religion or your ideas, it is a feminine issue.
For example Victoria Secret stores in the States, I lived there for 7 years, been to more than 30 States, visited more than a 100 malls, never saw a man working in their stores

Up until fairly recently only men could work in lingerie shops in Saudi Arabia because of the ban on women working. Oh the irony!

I don't think business would even do very well if it's a male salesperson working in a lingerie shop.

Moocherx, I just stated my opinion, and maybe I stated it a little bit harshly, and used words I shouldn't have used, for that I apologize.

And yeah, I got sniffed by our house owner's dog about 4 times in the past 2 days, I don't want your dog to sniff me.

Nael: with that attitude, YOU clearly have something wrong with you and should learn a little more about self-respect as clearly you deserve no respect from other people. I wouldn't even let my dog sniff you.

Good stuff. Any man who respects himself won't accept a job where he sells women's underwear, products or even as a hair dresser; because if that's the case, he's either a queer, on the verge of being a queer, or a pervert; But in the end, there's something wrong that that person.

I never been to a women's shop before here in Toronto, except for passing by the women's section in SEARS, all of the workers were women. But what I've noticed for sure is that most "ex men" and not "men" who work in a women's business are gay.

When I lived in Kuwait the lingerie shop I went to, had a salesman! He was really nice and I never felt uncomfortable. Or at least he didn't give me any reason to. But that might be because I'm half Finn and we don't care if we're asking a man or a woman about our bra size or even our string size!
But I do understand that in a country as Kuwait it is better to have saleswomen instead of men. Women are shyer and the culture is different there! I think it's a good move for Kuwait!
