Pretty amazing way to move a boat
I was looking at the pictures and I was like why would a boat dock inside a boat? Then the rest of the pictures were loaded and I was just like what the fuck?! Its really weird. [Link]

So what is the big machine called again?
Oh..I saw one of those somewhere, don’t remember where. Pretty cool contraption. It’s an ‘elevator’ in a canal. Moves a boat one level higher or lower. But AWFULLY slow process, it could take almost most of a day.
I’ve heard about those but I never saw any shots of them before. Cool :)
That thing is HUGE!!!!
wtf is this?!
cool but where is that?
I once did a canal boat holiday in Germany, similar process, your boat enters a dock, the gates close and the the whole dock, boat and the water is moved up the side of a hill, about 100m vertically. Took only about an hour for the whole process.
