He came to Kuwait for 3 months, filmed the movie and went back to the states to edit it. Both the Kuwaiti screenplay writer and the american director were friends at USC, a university with a highly respected film school! Now I personally know everyone that was involved in the film. Regardless of what opinion you may have about it, the film is great! For young students in this age to actually come up with a screen play and go the further mile to make a movie is a great achievement..
