    are you serious jane? without the sails up the ship can just fit through the neck of the bottle, and then the sails are *hoisted* upright with a piece of string attached to them. The glass “ship in a bottle” is usually where the bottom of the glass bottle is *welded* back on after the boat’s been put back inside. But that’s clearly just cheating.

    I have a little children crafts book ( and I’m not a mother, don’t ask :P)
    one of the crafts is to make a ship in a bottle..

    you can find wonders in those craft books.
