U Shop We Ship
I have been looking for an alternative to Aramex Shop and Ship for a long time now and haven’t been able to find one. Don’t misunderstand me, there are other options to Aramex which I have even mentioned before, but none provided me with everything I needed. They were either cheap but slow or fast but expensive, or even lacked some of Aramex’s basic features like package tracking. Now though I think I found another better option and its called U Shop We Ship.
I found out about it from a user who commented on one of my older posts and I decided to check it out. The first thing I did was check out how much the shipping would cost for an item that weighed 1KG and I compared it to Aramex and they both turned out to be priced identical. I then started to read more about their service and it turns out not only do they have all the features of Aramex but they also have additional stuff. Here are my favorites:
You have the option to destroy unwanted mail
You know how sometimes you get a stupid envelope which is just a bill for some magazine and you end up paying like KD2.5 for it. Well with U Shop We Ship (USWS) if you find junk mail in your mailbox you can have them destroy it for you.
They offer immediate shipping
You can have them check your mailbox and mail you stuff either once a week, twice a month or once a month AND you also have an option to have an item shipped immediately no matter what your shipping frequency is by paying a certain fee. This could be worth it when ordering a big item like an ipod or laptop and you really want it as quickly as possible. Just to clear what this means is say you have your shipping frequency set to once a week and it turns out they check your mailbox every Monday but your item arrived to your mailbox on Tuesday, instead of waiting till next Monday to have them ship your item you can have them ship it right away on Tuesday.
You can pay for your packages online
This is the coolest feature, something I have been wishing Aramex would do. I hate carrying cash with me, I am a plastic type of guy and so I hate it when Aramex delivers a package and I need to have an unknown amount ready to pay the guy. With USWS you pay for your packages online using either Knet or Visa. This feature sold me instantly.
I just got my account setup with them and I am going to try it by buying the Philips Bodygroom and mailing it to my new mailbox. Oh and you can change the shipping frequency yourself from the prefrences menu once you login and you can also change your login password, two things you also can’t do with Aramex. Their Kuwait office number is 4724673 but you can only sign up from their website. [Link]
Note: You not only get a US mailbox but also a UK and UAE mailbox. They also use Skynet Worldwide Express to ship the packages.
update: BusyNow pointed out to me that in their FAQ they have a discount section which mentions a variety of ways of getting discounts on shipping, something which you would never get with Aramex. [FAQ]

my brother is complaining about aramex, it take an average of 8-10 for something that i send to his mailbox to arrive in kuwait, and a further day for him to be able to collect it.
i’ll wait for ur experience and tell him about it.

I think the service is very good. I’ve had them for a little while. Since the shop and ship service belongs to a friend. They are really working on customer service. And they have some good people working for them.

What’s the price for having them check your mailbox daily? Wouldn’t it be better if they had an easy way you could notify them when you had a package in your mailbox? Just a link in your account page that you can click.

dripoo yeah I think you can cancel your aramex. me personally I am going to keep it but change the shipping frequency to once a month instead.
thamer, they dont have an option where they check your mailbox daily, its once a week, twice a month or once a month. But if you find something in your mailbox that you want them to ship immediatly, ie. you dont want to wait until its time for them to check your mailbox, then you can do that by paying an extra $20 fee. You notify them by clicking the ship now option next to the package on the website.

These guys didn’t even spend the time to check the spelling on their front page : wonderd ?? bargin ?? I hope this is not an indication of their service quality. I’d be interested to learn how Mark’s order went.

I recall ages ago you mentioned something about a shipping service that lets you use their paypal account. Can you please give me heads up on that and are they available outside kuwait? Thanks and good luck with (USWS)

Yeah that company was called IEC. Since Sarita left them I haven’t been in touch with their company. If you do a search on this blog you should find their contact info.
According to the USWS website they will be offereing prepaid credit cards with a US billing address. This would solve all our problems plus we would be able to refil the credit card using knet online..

Mark, in S&S we cant change the frequency….you never heard of this change they made back in Jan?
They have flights leaving on Sun & Thurs….they used to have three options…but now…

with Shop & Ship you can change the frequency. THey still have 3 options what changed though was the option for checking the mailbox 3 times a week, its now only twice a week.

The packages and correspondence in your mailbox will be collected and forwarded to you as per the agreed upon shipping schedule; Shop&Ship currently offers 3 times per week shipping frequency. ??? I dont know…

You can only have the 3 times per week shipping from Aramex. Last time I used Aramex I had to clear my packages by myself from the customs! and it takes 10 days to get your goods once shipped from the states! I will give USWS a try… Thanks Mark for the info

yeah u guys are right. i just called aramex and they told me around a year ago they stopped it and now the only option is 3 times a week. that really sucks.

Aramex Truly sucks.I worked there for over 5 years and ruined my career.It is an Arab Company and they promote their own family members and don’t give proper increments….They truly suck..Any1 who wants to work for Aramex and is not a family member,save your time…
