In one of the forums I usually visit somone had a post asking for everyones home theater setup. This is mine:

TV: Panasonic TX-33P100X
Receiver: Kenwood KRF-V8881D
DVD Player: Sony DVP-NS575P
Speakers: Jamo X870 for left and right. Paradigm CC370 for center. Two OEM Kenwood speakers for surround (they came with an older amp). No subwoofer (Jamo’s have 10″ woofers built in)
Universal Remote: Sony RM-AV3000

Future plans:

Update: I just replace my Kenwood receiver with the Denon AVR-2106 and the Sony universal remote with the Harmony 880.

it’s pretty cheapo but decent for a bedroom. i wouldn’t keep my setup if i had a living room to put it in.

    TV: Panasonic TX-29P100X
    DVD Player: Philips 956K
    A/V Receiver: Yamaha V2092
    Speakers: front - Definitive BP6B

sub- JBL (used to have a Velodyne but I blew it)
    surrounds - Boston Acoustic VRS

  21. 21. Marzouq | January 18th, 2006 at 11:08 pm

U r giving me hope here!!!!! I didnt think tivo can work in Kuwait! Then I can even record football games and watch em later!!

  22. 22. Marzouq | January 18th, 2006 at 11:12 pm

The other thing that just popped in my head is that the tivo box has an NTSC card in it if I remember correctly. How do you get around that?

Sorry for all the questions, but if its possible I would get the humax tivo I got previously which had 200hr HD and DVD burner so you can burn shows!

  23. 23. Mark | January 19th, 2006 at 12:05 am

well the genius behind that is rami or whom i like to call tivoguy (www.rami.info)

he managed to get tivo to work in kuwait with showtime. and yes you get the guide and everything updated automatically with the daily calls. and yes originally its NTSC but there is a hack for it to make it pal. And the service is free.

it will only work though with tivo philips series 1.

for more info go to http://www.tivokuwait.com or contact tivoguy at rami.info

That is a nice setup. Is the TV HD? I remember how muc I liked the hardwood floor instead of the muffled sound I get from my carpeting

I have a poor man’s home theatre system - an old compaq armada 1750, with an old projector - so something like a 100″ tv on the wall, and use headphones to listen to the sound.

I have my new Home Theater. Receiver Denon AVR2106, speakers Infinity Beta HCS, DVD Pioneer DV600 and TV Philips 32pf9632. It´s great.
