Look Mark, I really don't want to get you upset. Nor do I want to disagree (much) with you on your blog. For that I apologize.
Now regarding activeX. Many corporates I work with develop their own ActiveX controls to allow enhanced functionality. (for Example, a bank can have an ActiveX control that collects smart-card information) Another example for activeX control is a MSN file/image upload. These are extensions to IE that allows features not originally available in the product itself. Other activeX implementations do many things like launching a terminal session ..etc
Anyway, IE is not a member of my family, Who cares? I just hope this competition would yield better browsers for all :)

so you are trying to convince me now IE is better then Firefox? Did fadibou put you up to this??

What does ActiveX have to do with extensions dude? ActiveX is a plugin like Shockwave, Flash, real etc.. extensions are like spell checkers, ad block, and user agent switchers.

these are examples of some extensions
http://www.econsultant.com/i-want-firefox-extension/index.html

extensions are an expansion to the browser, they add features that werent originally there

Mark, I don't know what you're smoking by I would love to have some!
Dude, Firefox in 5 more years might hit 1% of the number of extensions already available for IE! Dude, come on. I mean come on, have you heard of ActiveX!? COM! AddONs? The fact is, IE supported these since 1999. You can even write your own
Don't just repeat all the BS that you hear and don't end up being a "FanBoy" get your facts straight and don't just follow, LEAD!

I come across more issues with Firefox everyday, than I do with anything else. Does this make firefox bad? absolutely not, but it doesn't make it the best thing since sliced bread either

qwaider, no way on earth does IE have 1/4 of the amount of extensions as Firefox. You cant compare the two.

the address bar autocomplete is cool but when you have 20+ sites you visit daily and when you have like 50+ sites you visit every so often then the autocomplete isnt as practical.

Whats the big deal about either, (Firefox and google)
All browswers basically have plugins since the days of Mosaic. I am amazed how people see a plugin for some browser and think "WoW I love this browser cuz it has plugins"!
Google provided a bookmarkie thingie a while ago once you login it was through GoogleBar for IE (Which is a plugin incase you didn't notice yet)
As for me, my bookmarks are usually stagnant. If there is somewhere I like to go, the address bar usually completes the name for me! I guess I gave up on bookmarks once the number of machines I use on a daily bases passed 5 almost 10 years ago

yeah i import and export but i dont do that daily only when i move to a new computer. this solves the problem by doing it for u every time u open the browser and automatically. but as i mentioned the disadvantage is the waiting period..

I think thats a good tool, but i usually just import or export the bookmarks, but this does it for you. And i have session saver on all my computers.. it saves all the tabs especially when the computer crashs and it does an amazing job. And you can export or import any saved sesssion.
