I'm sure the next GTalk version will feature Pc-to-Phone calls going head-to-head with services like net2Phone, PC2Phone and Skype.

They don't need to penetrate anything - they've already hinted at the fact that GTalk will support 'friends' on other networks - check this out from their 'About' page...

<blockquote>
We can say this, though: we believe strongly in user choice and open standards, and we are committed to letting users access Google Talk using the client and platform of their choice, as well as to enabling our users to talk with users from other service providers.
</blockquote>

Besides - who would've thought that so many people would migrate away from Hotmail and Yahoo! and onto Gmail instead?

But yes, I see your point.

I doubt my 50+ contacts on msn will all move to google talk. 90% of them dont even use Gmail and for them to want to move to Google Talk their friends on their contact lists would have to move also. Thats impossible, Google is too late.

I knew that was coming! Was thinking about it yesterday, since they came in and stormed everything internet related, how come they dont have their own messenger style program? And I check ur blog and voila! I have to disagree with u about penetrating MSN and Yahoo communities, I think it will surpass both with time.
