One of my subjects this course is website prvacy and security and we had to do a full research on vulnerabilities out there and address them each one by one.

You would be amazed to know that firefox tops IE7 by 3-7 more vulnerholes, even though both are so close in having an equal number of vulnerability measure.

If you want 2 of the best browsers out there, I would suggest opera, and nothing but opera, after that comes safari and by a very long shot comes both Internet explorer 7 and firefox right after that.

just dropping my 2cents.

firefox is just too damn good to bother going back to IE. and IE is near useless without a tabbed skin like Maxthon for instance.

Borzaiga to my knowledge IE7 speeds are on par with Firefox 1.5, now Firefox 2 will be out soon and that is supposed to be faster than FF 1.5 …
in security too the FF2 is better than FF1.5 and IE - security is a debatable issue but i think FF wins cause they patch up more frequently, my advice just surf wisely.

i use firefox myself, but is it true its faster than IE ? and this guy in the it department of the company i work for says IE is more secure .. he didnt explain How / why it is more secure he just said its more secure and left lol

I picked up a habit of sliptreaming latest updates each 3 months or so into a fresh XP install CD.

I’m trying to slipstream IE7 and it looks MS doens’t want people to do that anymore !!

And yeah the IE7 UI was probably designed by some monkey brain that got intructions from his boss to try make IE7 soo different than FF “just don’t forget the TABS Jack !!”…

767….you have to go to add / remove programs. If that doesn’t work, goto the IE help page and try to remove.

The major issue I had with Ie7 was the fact that the ADDRESS bar is Now permanently stuck at the TOP of the Window. You can’t move it - which is a complete pain in the ass!!!

The File / Edit /View / Favorites are now located UNDER the address bar and cannot be moved either - how stupid is that!?

There is a reg hack which will put the File / Edit menu back at the TOP of the window - but it’s not recommended for people who have never fiddled with Registries.

So Stupid….what an own goal by Microsoft.

I used ie7 a few weeks back and it was a load of shit!

Whatever you do - do not install this junk!!! Stick to IE6….

Tabs, built in search engines, and many plugins make firefox superior to any other browser. Although Opera is also good, but it is not as robust and compatible as Firefox. Firefox should do to IE what IE did to Netscape.
