1024K = 133L.E (approximately $25)
Unlimited Downloads
(if you exceed 40GB a month, the speed decreases to 128K)

That's the Vodafone offer in Egypt. All the other offers are around the same prices.

Egypt rules in this game.

Yeah, LBP is pegged to the USD at 1500 LBP per $1, (officially 1505-1510) It is pretty shitty...we have a huge ass national debt.

On topic: The "official" DSL ISPs are pretty limited in Lebanon, I have a pretty good (cable) internet connection up in the mountains here with a local ISP (probably illegal, but who cares...it's Lebanon, they buy a bunch of bandwidth getting beamed down from Russian satellites or something). I pay $44 a month, up to 512 kbps and a 2.5GB up+down limit PER DAY. Pings between 300-500ms depending on the time of day.

If you want an unlimited bandwidth you could try Sodetel.

http://www.sodetel.net.lb/packages.php

The problem here the highest unlimited connection they are offering is 256K. But keep in mind the fine print "Fair Usage Policy applies."

But I still feel their offerings and packages are the best for DSL in Lebanon.

Wouldn't know if its a good thing or a bad thing. I just know its easier for me to calculate from KD to dollars than KD to Lebanese cuz with the Lebanese pound you get into millions and its just confusion.

1KD = 3.4USD (Approx)
1KD = 5,000LBP

That is not a good thing for any government. That renders the Lebanese central bank powerless to target inflation, or set interest rates, or even gauge the amount of currency in circulation. Basically that makes Ben Bernake Lebanon's unelected Finance Minister.
