Any image that is placed on flickr still belongs to the image holder. Not sure where you got the idea that once you upload an image to flickr you lose all ownership but that's not how it works. The Creative Commons is there so you can set how your image can be used but even if you don't set it you don't relinquish your image rights. If you dont protect whatever you post on Flickr or any media sharing site with the "Creative Commons" copy rights, then you should assume that everything you post on there is free to be used by any 3rd party. There is another Bazzar-style magazine called Cruise Campus which constructed the front page of one of their issues with 14 stolen pictures !

One of the photographers called them to complain, they told him that they got the pictures from a CD they got from Al Watan newspaper! So it looks like there are people making money from others hard work!!

We have seen politicians steal articles from other writers, I know Al-Watan took the same university election results from a website and posted them without any reference credit.
