Alshaya and fast food

I don’t know how accurate this information is but over the weekend I heard that Alshaya is going to enter the fast food business and they are going to do that by relaunching Arby’s and Wendy’s in Kuwait. I hope the rumor turns out to be true.

Me too. I miss Wendy’s burgers and wouldn’t mind an Arby’s roast beef and cheddar with horseradish sauce as well as some of those crispy potato things… (and I usually hate fast food)

This feels like taking a trip down nostalgia lane. Arby’s today, Wendy’s tomorrow….it is only going to be a matter of when before they are going to want to bring back A & W’s Root Beer, Boston Bay Cookies and New England Ice cream. Too bad, Ben & Jerry’s still aren’t represented in Q8!
14. Mark | March 1st, 2008 at 9:20 pm
Boston Bay?? Was that the cookie branch that was open next to Hungry Bunny in salmiya?? Cuz I used to love those cookies, they were the best but I couldn’t remember the name of the place!

Arby’s not Alshaya. Will open in phase 2. Can’t wait !!! I hope it survives because the food cost was phenomenal with Alhomaizi.

Everything from those two places is good except the kuwait-exclusive burgers from Arby’s!! I just couldn’t stand the crime of serving burgers at an arby’s. Except the prices would be higher than the usual especially for Wendy’s, since its prices were already high before closing. I’m talking like +2.5 KDs per meal, trust me on that.

guys, fast food is the reason why we’ve overtaken the USA in prevalence of obesity (and its deadly complications). You’re essentially promoting a health care catastrophe.
Think a little.

If there’s one place on earth that has more junk food outlets than Kuwait has; it’s got to be Doha in Qatar. Guess, it’s some kind of a Qatari affectation.

Maybe with the new foreign trade regulations in place, it won’t matter who their old agent is. (?)
Arby’s used to be in Kuwait a long time ago (10 years). I don’t know about Wendy’s. Do you think that Wendy’s will still offer the same healthy meals as they have in the US? I hope so.
Uno’s pizza used to be in Kuwait a long time go too. I wish they would come back. They had an awesome “salad in a bucket”, delivered.
