Alshaya Secret Shoppers Program

Alshaya logo

A friend just signed up for the Alshaya secret shoppers program. I don’t know if its new or not but the work involved sounds pretty cool. Basically as a secret shopper you are required to shop at Alshaya stores every week and then write about your experience. You also get two meals at Alshaya restaurants every week worth KD14 which you also need to write about. Based on your feedback Alshaya then try and improve their service.

The pay seems pretty decent too once you get more experienced. New shoppers get paid KD75 a month while silver shoppers get paid KD150 and gold shoppers get KD300. I think more bloggers should participate in this since bloggers spend a lot of time writing about their experiences anyway.

How do you sign up for it? You can’t. Its a secret program which not many people are supposed to know about (ooops!). My friend was able to sign up because he knew someone who was already a secret shopper. So ask around I guess or give them a call and try your luck? I think its really great they have a program like this and more companies should do it if they aren’t already.

Our company has been doing the secret shopper thingy for more than 10 years.

It’s a great way of identifying problems in your customer-facing area.

I am one of the mystery shoppers too.. I have a feeling I know who ur friend is.. I thought he/she (for the sake of secrecy) looked familiar. It is an interesting way of improving or to maintain the quality..
Anyhow Shoppie mate.. In case ur wondering I am the one who suggested they have a mystery shopper/auditor on their form for the typo’s…
    good luck on ur mission

this is must for retail companies, its easy to try hard for a while to keep service levels up and then get lax and let them deteriorate, its good to know that Alshaya has systems in place to maintain and build brand quality and service.

  4. mykblog says:

You could get in if you know someone at NBK service quality team, the “mystery shop” each other.

  14. classy says:

we used to do that when was working in the bank and we call it GHOST SHOPPER ;)

  15. classy says:

moe ,,, talk more details about the beach party sounds sooooooo tempting ;)

  16. Marzouq says:

I’m assuming that people are missing a point.. you should shop at the stores.. meaning you have to buy something no matter how little.. you have to really write up an experience, I bet there is more to it then it seems.

Overall a very good program if they are applying it correctly!

  17. Moey says:

I wantttttt!!!!! I shop all the time at alshaya, in Kuwait, in Amman even in Beirut :P

  18. Moe says:

classy: the beach party was awesome and EVERYTHING was available.. there were Lebanese, European, American and a some cool open minded Kuwaitis (1%) I had to get drunk and drive a Jet Ski it was sooooo crazy woman went yelling ” nazelneeeee” and i was ” wohoooooo” she was almost going to have a nervous break down when i told her the jet is not working ! (in the middle of no where hahaha) and dacing on with DJ crow… the music was trans man it was really nice the party ended at 8 but the after party (if you had a room) till 2:00AM YEAH!!!

  19. Rollen says:

can i be a bank secret shopper? i’ll quit my uni and come back.

  20. Mark says:

yes like marzouq said you have to shop and buy stuff at the store. But when you are done you can just return them for a full refund.

  21. classy says:

moe.. Woow it looks like that you was in malibu beach not julai3a beach lol ;)

  22. 3azeez says:

I don’t think they give u the 75 dinars just so u’d spend it. i’m sure they’ll give u the 75 dinars only after you spend 400 :/

  23. [He]speaks says:

im lovin’ the sound of this ,, I know that banks do that on a frequent basis, but a retailer doing the same process is quite something. I think this shows how the AlShaya management is really serious about the efficiency, the empathy, and degree of satisfaction their customers are perceiving.

*a good move, from a respected company.

  24. That job was MADE for me!

    I waaaaaant ! ;(

  25. Oh, by the way, i have a question….

Ive noticed that most pharmacies have changed their signs and are now ‘Boot’s pharamacies’ but still have their old names as well…..and they are sprouting up almost everywhere………so whats the story behind this?

  26. Mark says:

I heard the Kempenski party sucked balls. I mean who holds a rave at 10AM?? I saw pictures of the event and it has lots of families sitting on the beach looking like they were having a big picnic lol

  27. classy says:

Delicately … i didnt noticed that in jam3ia pharmacies ? also the pharmacies in jabria and other areas they are still keeping the same name

  28. classy says:

Mark … am Soooo curious to see the PHOTOS ;P

  29. Mark says:

Don’t worry there were no thongs or anything of that sort.

  30. classy says:

hahahahahaha did i mentioned anything like that ;P ??! even though its kind of fun to see whats happening around the country ;)

  31. Classy:

There is a Boots in Jabriya, but it is a new store, i mean it wasnt a pharmacy b4. Im not 100% sure…but i think the pharmacy in Faiha jam3iya or Rawda changed to Boots (with the old name too)….i have a bad memory…..and for sure the pharmacy in Plaza Hawalli is now a Boots but its also still keeping its old name.

  32. Damon Dash says:

secret parties in Kuwait are so 90′s

  33. classy says:

Delicately… thats right, boots pharmacies are expanding lately, which is a good thing cuz am one of the big fan :)

  34. Desert Girl says:

Halahal, the International Service Check (www.internationalservicecheck.com) people only pay US $ 16 (around 4kd) per check and they want you go to in and purchase something from the shops with your own money and they will reimburse you. As if!

  35. Moe says:

walla man there was !! i’m not lying 2 Bulgarians woman 20s were sitting right next to us and we spoke wid em, had a couple of drinks till my woman came.. who ever showed u the pics mark is sooo mistaken!! the party went till 2 AM (private) Mark if you want i can send u some pics just as proof + i didn’t see any families where i was (swear to god)

  36. Mark says:

  47. Anon says:

internationalservicecheck works fine, they don’t pay much but at least they DO pay within a couple of days. I never had problems with them, and with time you get high level service checks such as taking an exam in a certified IT center or shopping something else than food and mcdonalds.

  48. anonymous says:

i realize this entry was posted almost two years ago, but i just wanted to share some new found information. all i did was fill out the following form http://customercare.alshaya.com/AlshayaCFS/survey.aspx and i was contacted the next day by alshaya!
