Amaya Seafood
This looks like an interesting place to try out. Amaya Seafood as you can guess from the name is a seafood restaurant which is located at the Mishref Coop. I haven’t been there but judging by the picture above it looks like a cozy place. Amaya also seems very affordable, KD1.900 for sweet & sour prawns or prawn curry is actually really cheap. They have a website with more details on what they offer including the prices. I am going to try and pass by this weekend. [Link]
Thanks miss ghesquiere!

Fishmarket sucks. Its owned by americana and the food, and service are horrible. They are trying to repeat the success they have with Fishmarket in cairo but they spoiled the formula and thus ended up with a shittty place with shitty food and service. Oh – and 25 dinars crabs which they can shove up their ass.
Amaya is really good. Be warned though, the place is tiny and is much better if you order it as take away or delivery and eat it at home…otherwise the waiters and cashier are practically sitting on ur lap while you eat…and you end up smelling like fried fish for the rest of the day ;)

Amaya seafood sounds great. cute and cozy. exactly what kuwait needs- seafood that’s NOT japanese food, or chinese, and not just heavy kuwaiti fish dishes. I’m vegetarian and I’m going to try it! I’m so excited!!It’s my only exception.

80% of the menu are FRIED items. That should sell well. Just forget about healthy meals.

Daddyz Girl, it is not the same as the restaurant in Barcelona, this is a totally new concept created by 2 kuwaiti’s. I hope you will try it out, as i have heard such great reviews about it. Im heading there my self tomorrow or the day after to see what everyone is talking about :)
Just love the place it looks really clean and cute,
Just to let everyone know. it is not located in the Mishref Co-op. It is located next to the mosque across the CO-op in block 3

Yes it really is a small place, but that was the whole point, a small cozy local neighbourhood restaurant, if this place succeeds it might wake people up into trying to create similar concepts, ive tried them twice for catering, sent them my plates and they filled them with mini crab cakes and rolls and etc, they are very generous with suaces and dips, last time i visited i was tiold that they are introducing over a dozen healthy non fried options… cant wait.. anyone tried their lobster?! yumm!

Isn’t Amaya the Indian place at Mayfair’s in London? Have they opened a franchise in Kuwait?

I finally went! the food is amazing. they have really good shrimp and it’s like breaded (crumbs) and it’s good cause it has a flavour! And the sauces are so tasty. The prices are really good; i wasn’t expecting it for the feast that we ordered!
you guys should definitely give it a go.

yesterday I had the misfortune of going to FISH MARKET RESTAURENT near kuwait towers, I had oredered some stuff ,including some lobsters and we decided to wait outside as we had our 2 yr old with us who was difficult to manage inside. After some time I went inside, but an arab looking guy in blue denim, without any ID |card or any uniform asked in arabic where i was going,i didnt understand what he was saying , so i proceeded inside , BUT HE RUSHED AT ME AND TRIED TO PUSH ME AWAY. Luckily I was having my bill with me , so I showed it to him , and he let me go after saying some abuses in arabic.I went inside and complained to the manager, and he said that the guy was their security. I asked him then why he was not in uniform , or any i.d badge, he said it was their business whether the security is uniformed or not. This is a very insulting way of dealing with a customer who has already ordered a meal and had come inside only to collect it.IT SEEMS THEY WANT ONLY KUWAITIS TO ENTER

Now they dont have the tables and the chairs inside..its only a take away resturant..
The owners are releted to me:D
