Animal Friends League Rescue
The Animal Friends League in Kuwait recently rescued 15 dogs that were living outdoors on a farm in Kebd. The dogs were never taken indoors not even during the extreme summer heat. AFL have some pictures and more information on their website plus a YouTube video. Fourteen of the dogs were Saluki’s and are now being prepared to be transported to the USA where they will be handed over to the Saluki Tree of Life Alliance. They are seeking donations to help with this and you can get more information about that on their website [Here]
I also found an article on the Saluki Tree of Life Alliance website on this rescue and on other rescues in Kuwait. The article contains a slightly graphic picture. [Link]

Did you know that Saluki’s are the only dogs considered NOT nays/najs (unclean).. and they have been favorites of Bedouins for hunderds of years.. anyway thats what I’ve heard,, and so, have looked it up.. interesting no? But look into it more, my info isn’t 100% fact, its just wiki..

I’d like them to come around and ”rescue” the buggers that keep me awake at night from behind the walls of their owners homes…………

Very humane act indeed. However, I am still of the opinion that dogs that are infested with rabies should be killed or euthanized for the safety of general public and also to offer them a peaceful and painful alternative for their demise from this world. Thank you for sharing this!

WTH…why ship them to the US?!?!
These salag dogs are desert dogs some cost a fortune, why ship them of to the US where they would breed them and make a fortune out of them?!
If theyre gonna ship them of to the US they should castrate them…just like what people in the US do when they sell purebred animals, so they dont breed them outside the origin country and make a profit out of them!
Cant they just find them homes in Kuwait?
This is was really pisses me off about animal friends and paws..they think that everyone in Kuwait doesnt take care of animals probably.. i swear they really get on my nerves! They’re so racist when it comes to giving away their pets.

No please ship them out! And while PAWS are at it, can they come and lift the shit off my street where these wonderful dog owners walk their dogs?

LE: Didn’t you have a husky which you used to leave outside in the Kuwaiti heat and then carelessly lost?

There’s a big brownish-white husky that runs wild near me and sometimes takes a little girl for a walk…………….

Mark u make it seem as if we left them out in the heat…
They had a fully air conditioned 6×8m room… they were kept in there throughout the day when it was hot, and when the sun set they were put out in a fenced pen which had their own pool..they’d stay there til sunrise until they were put back in their room. They also had handler that would walk them twice a day. On top of that most of the time i’d personally play with them for hours on end.
A better life than most workers in Kuwait even live..so please dont make it seem like i was abusing them.

LE,
Maybe you care for and love your dogs very much and maybe you even have the option or must I say the right to keep one in your home. People like you are a minority in kuwait.
I live in an apartment building and I had to send my dog (German Shepard) back home cos the owner and the haras wouldn’t allow me to keep a dog in my home. Their excuses were that there are Kuwaitis living in the building and there is a mosque only a 150 metres away and dogs are unclean and the Kuwaiti’s kids are scared of dogs etc. etc. etc. So not all people in Kuwait respect dogs like they should. I had adopted my dog from AFL and they were willing to take him back, but I loved him too much to give him away so I sent him to my family back home so I would get to see him more often.
If the dogs are being shipped to the US, then better for them, cos atleast a majority of the Kuwaiti people I’ve seen don’t want them here and don’t respect them enough.
I sent my dog to my home country and I’m glad I did, cos this place is too fucked up for dogs.
