Arab Times Newspaper in Digital Format

I was just checking out the Arab Times website and noticed they had a pretty cool and practical to use online edition of the actual printed newspaper. I don’t mind reading the news online but I always feel I am missing out on articles or ads that are in the print version of the newspaper but not online. Some newspapers have PDF files you can download but that isn’t very practical to view and the file sizes can be pretty big.

What Arab Times has is a pretty nice tool that will allow you to view the printed newspaper in full screen on your computer and flip through it like a regular paper. When you find an article you want to read you click on it and zooms in. To try it out just go to their website and click on the PDF link on the main page. [Link]

Good idea! It’s about time an English newspaper does that.

Ya. its really nice to see a pdf version of the actual printed newspaper. But arab times only updates the days newspaper in the afternoon.
On the other hand Kuwait Times updates their daily pdf version early in the morning.

I wish they would send this version to the Newseum (http://www.newseum.org/) in DC everyday. The news museum gets 80 electronic newspapers every morning which they display for the public in hopes of cultural awareness (front pages only). Among the ones I saw yesterday were AlNahar, AlSharq AlAwsat, and I think it was Gulf News (emirates).

Mark, everyone; old news. AT in digital format has been there since 2007 but they did change their look in 2009.

Good to see that Arab Times is finally getting with the times. The e-newspaper format has been around with most international newspapers since a couple of years.

This has been there for some time. When I last checked it, it used to be one day old.
If they have now started updating it in the afternoon, it’s pretty neat.

check out issuu.com. Both these newspapers are using this site for their pdf versions. You can also find a great collection of other magazines and publications on various topics there.

Arab Times has more features on website, you can register and comment on the news and also you can post free classifieds. Kuwait times we have to wait and see when they will come up with this feature
