Aramex HAS a Competitor!

Just got a phone call from Sarita. Some of you might know her from the Aramex Shop n Ship service. She left them a while back and now works at a new place called IEC Trading who offer a similar service to Aramex except with some more advantages. I only got a few details off her but will be getting more soon. Here is what I got:

- Setting up a US mailbox costs the same, KD10
- Packages are shipped to Kuwait via FedEx and DHL
- No customs on any of your packages
- Shipping prices are the same
- On heavy packages they can give you a discount

So far everything sounds great and I will definitely be creating an account with them since Aramex have become really slow. My last package spent 7 days in UAE in transit! Once I get more details I will post them here.

currently with aramex sometimes u end up paying customs on your packages like laptops. IEC trading guarantees u never pay customs.

The question is how long will it take for packages to arrive? the usual 4-5 days or less and how many times per week do they check the mailbox and stuff.

thats the more details i am going to find out. I am guessing though both fedex and dhl wont be slower then aramex.

oh another advantage for me atleast is that IEC Trading office is in Hawalli opposite Rihab Complex. Thats closer to me then Ardiyah.

waiting for details….seems intersting even though i’ve been with aramex but i’m not happy, my packages spent an average of 4 days in the uae, even though they told me that they were using kuwait airlines to get the packages to kuwait

waiting for details….seems intersting even though i’ve been with aramex for 2 weeks now, but i’m not happy, my packages spent an average of 4 days in the uae, even though they told me that they were using kuwait airlines to get the packages to kuwait

I have been with aramex for 4 years and I am not happy. I was happier before when items used to take just 3 days to get to kuwait. now everything takes forever.

i past by sarita and spoke to her. they are still new but their aim is basically to make their service better then aramex so they are trying to make some advantages. For example she told me they will purchase stuff for you with paypal if their is something u need and they would take a small comission. Their office phone number is 2639921

she will email me details tonight and i will post them online tomorrow.

Too much Aramex hate going around. IMO, I might try out this new company when they are finally up and running. However, you have to realize that this is all talk (no offense to Mark). IEC has yet to prove itself (faster/customs/closer). As with anything in Kuwait, I will believe it when I see it.

As for Aramex .. Its true they take ages to get stuff and there are some snags. BUT, they actually do bring your stuff and they are quite reliable. If you were to order something directly from America it would cost you a small fortune (If the company even accepts international orders in the first place).

  18. 18. Mark | December 11th, 2005 at 11:45 pm

    Hi Mark,
I just want to tell you that the local agent of http://www.myus.com in Kuwait is IEC.As you know that Sarita is working now with IEC.
    Bye

hey mark… i’ve been meaning to open an aramex account, but after hearing ur comments, i’ve decided to check IEC out…. have you tried it yet? any difference? where can i go to sign up?

  22. 23. Mark | February 21st, 2006 at 3:53 pm

well I no longer am recommending IEC. I was before when Sarita was working there, she helped manage the Aramex shop and ship account when they first started. Now though I understood she left IEC which must mean because they were doing something wrong..

    Hi Mark,

There is an absolutely much better alternative to Aramex… please check out http://WWW.UShopWeShip.com & if possible we would like to contact Sarita.

    Thank you

ushopeweship is great, I agree completely with Mark. You can join online and get 3 boxes, US, UK, and Dubai. Its only for $25, no need to call and wait for days for anyone to answer like in Aramex! I had things broken, ruined and late from aramex and they are the best with excuses! Although to be fair, when Sarita was there things where better but now its just an insult!
People check out the compatition honestly it’ll be worth it. http://www.ushopweship.com

Thank God I’m not the only one constantly complaining about Aramex :O) Thanks for the tips Mark will chk out the new site.

I think Aramex is consolidating shipments to cut cost. They seem to hold on to packages for 3 or 4 days, before shipping them. If it’s an important shipment I’d still trust Aramex.
