Most men and women visiting the bars are the locals along with few like minded, well connected foreigners with deep pockets. Among whom, the women, no surprise come for the money , some come to scratch the itch and few odd ones to enjoy the wild company who also happen to be the queen bees (madams).

He says the bosses never pay him, there is no salary, that’s part of the deal, he only gets food and accommodation and he is not allowed to leave the place frequently. Everything he made was out of tips from people who frequent the Bar, which ranges between 200 – 500 Kd p/m. So one can imagine the rage these places are and the kind of people that visit these places obviously are filthy rich which explains all those expensive cars.

I mockingly asked him if the place ever gets raided and has he ever been jailed, to which he smugly replied that the men in khaki and their superior counter parts are the back bone and frequent visitors to the bar. Some visit the place in uniform and some even pick up chicks while on duty in their police cruisers. So I were you Mark, I wouldn’t bother these people. :p

The man doesn’t work as waiter anymore but the next time I see him, I’m gonna ask him if I can get a pass into these places even as a waiter for week or so. Its dangerous but its going to be awesome & adventurous!

Also while we are on this topic , Salmiya also has a large number of Chinese hookers wearing the worst kind of ‘look-i’m-a-hooker’ kinda clothes. I wonder who gets them visas.

Many building have this ‘discreet’ shady setups going on.Looks like its really spreading.
