BMW M1

bmw m1

Yesterday I dropped my car at the BMW dealer because some parts I had ordered arrived. While there I spotted a really cool looking car that looked like an old Lotus. Turned out it was a BMW M1. The car was made between 1978-1981 and it looked like it was in excellent condition. At that moment I was like I need to have that car. Of course I didn’t know how much a vintage car like that cost. I just checked online and the cheapest one I found was for $91,000. What a cool car though.

Its a damn cool car, BMW raced them during its release, and it was an effective race car. BMW even had various artists paint some M1’s. If I am not mistaken Andy Warhol did one.

The M1 is one of the all time classic cars. It never ages. I still remember the first time I saw one parked in front of the Hyatt Regency hotel in Dubai. It must have been back in 1980 or 1981 and I 8 or 9 years old. It simply takes your breath away. The BMW dealer here in Oman had one in white with M sport stripes across the hood. He kept it parked inside the showroom for years. People always stopped to stare.

Yea it’s such a beautiful car. The reason why it doesn’t look like any other BMW at the time was because it was designed by Guigiaro.

Here is a list of other cars that he designed.
