British soldier kidnapped by Muslim fanatics in Kuwait
This is a pretty messed up incident. A British soldier in civilian clothing got ambushed by five guys in Kuwait City and then held captive. Luckily he managed to escape by jumping out of a first story balcony. [Article]
Update: According to Al-Rai newspaper the British government is denying this incident took place. Here is the article (it’s in Arabic). [Article]

First: if he was serving in iraq, what was he doing in Kuwait? Was he down to pick up some loose Filipina women or other third world nationality?
Second: can he speak Arabic? Did these men show him their civil ID? How does he know they weren’t a bunch of greedy saidi or bengali?
Third: why was this not in any english daily here? You know how they like to gossip…..

curlysue, third world nationality?
I would like to clarify to anyone that read that, just in case, that is not especially characteristic of a Kuwaiti mind.
Clarification # 32130, oh who am I kidding — I lost count.

This is what happens when you free terrorists suspects on 1000Kd bail – just encourages every nut out there to do anything – there is no punishment.
8. 3azeez | August 28th, 2009 at 2:50 pm
lol… i heard that he was hanging out in a party with couple of other guys drinking and ****ing… then something went wrong and he ended up in a fight with them…
9. 3azeez | August 28th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
hilaliya, I think terrorists suspects bail is around 100 kd.. not 1000. heh.

Me thinks curlysue is not getting serviced properly:)

@ Curlysue:
1. British Soldiers no longer are in Iraq; except in Baghdad guarding the British Embassy.
2. They can be in Kuwait; for R&R – Rest and Recuperation or In – transit to de-mobilise / mobilise.
3. Loose Filipina or third world? How can you stereotype? There are ‘loose’ local nationals as well; in addition to first world ‘loose character’ women as well.
4. There are greedy Locals as well. (Please dont generalise)
5. English dailies? Maybe you will read a big ass article tomorrow morning – Arabtimes or Kuwait times will oblige your nubile mind with gossip.
Lastly; you seem to be extremely racist.
12. curlysue | August 28th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
No I’m not a racist I’m a pragmatist. And I only state what I see happening around me.

14. nxman | August 28th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
This story is a rumor only denied by Ku government and the UK embassy be careful what you post.
15. 3azeez | August 28th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
nxman, do you want the UN to deny it Too?
16. curlysue | August 28th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Why be careful what you post?
If it’s a rumour why is the telegraph printing it? Is it a rumour as in he said it but it hasn’t been proven or a rumour that he even said it? Now I’m confused!
