Bye Bye IKEA

Like many of you I have been visiting IKEA in Shuwaikh since I was a kid. Sadly at the same time this post gets published (5PM) IKEA in Shuwaikh will have closed down for good. Tomorrow IKEA will reopen but at a new location in The Avenues mall. I was lucky enough to pass by IKEA for lunch today and see the original IKEA for one last time before they closed their doors. It was really strange walking around and not see any furniture on display. I took some pictures with my phone so check them out. [Pictures]

Yes its sad to see it go,,, but its moving on to the avenues and sometimes a change is good…
Now the only thing i am worried about is that the part of the 5th ring were the avenues is located will get jammed. Interesting the rest of the mall doesn’t seem to be finished.
But what i am really waiting to see is how the French supermarket chain carrefour will be..

I like the design of the new Ikea building. It looks as disjointed as a piece of Ikea furniture I’ve tried to put together myself.

Thank goodness for that! That store was really hard to park at and ridiculously small. I hated it!
