Cheap Laptop
Was picking up a computer from Carrefour when I spotted this cheap laptop which seemed like a steal. The specs are: Intel Celeron 2.2Ghz, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, 14″ screen, wifi, webcam and a DVD writer. The laptop comes with no operating system and they’re selling it for KD129.500.

with no operating system you say ? well thats interesting.
Majority of laptops being sold comes with the LOVELY vista. I would kill for an XP os.
The other day I saw a nice HP laptop, nice specs and all, and yes, Vista.

Intel “Celeron”
That’s the catch.
Try running one of those Chinese-made Celeron processors for one or two hours, and you will know why it’s so cheap…

Celeron is a good processor to alot of people…Not everyone wants a high performance machine…
It comes pre-loaded with linux…not compatible with XP, only Vista.

I picked it up yesterday for my father… He does very light work on Office, and browses the internet…
And….so far so good. I tried installing XP, but i got the BSOD twice. So I tried Vista, and it went very smoothly.
The overall Vista Rating is 3.5 (The Graphics Card being the low denominator…)
I guess for regular office work, it is a good deal.
