Hi guys. I need some help. I want to buy a 60GB PS3 now but don’t know who’s doing the best offer currently. Last years alghanim brochure showed KD 179 with either motorstorm or rfom and a sixaxis, or the KD 199 offer with 2 sixaxis pads and 2 games (noted above). Their latest magazine does’nt say anything about it but it’s still on demo display in their Al Rai showroom. Then there’s Rihab. I called the shop I had purchased my PS2 from, way back when, and he told me KD 180 with one game. Has the price not reduced at all this year? Saw sony’s (tiny outlet beside burger king and pizza hut in salmiya) offer but after reading the many posts on how they are cheating customers (no warranty, pushing grey market machines, etc), it put me off. These are the only stores I visit for my gaming needs. If anyone can update me on the latest prices (I think Rihab is robbing me) and best deals and the location of those stores in Kuwait, I’d be extremely greatful. Also the price of games, what a brand new game (brand new meaning a new release, example upcoming GTA4) should cost at the most and what an old release, say a game like rfom, should cost now. The guys at Rihab can smell a noob regarding these matters a mile away making it easy for people like me to get swindled. Also in Jleeb there’s a store that sells used PS3 games for KD 15. Is this price a rip off and is it reliable? I know this works in the states and uk, both the condition of the discs and the price are good. Any help with this aswell please. I lost my 360 to the extremely rare (HA) RROD and seeing how the replacement / repair offers that exist in states, uk etc. don’t apply here, I decided time for a puss3. HD DVD’s death and 360’s last generation ways (games on dvd, disc swapping!?! O_o) did’nt make me think twice either. Played all the great titles for it anyway, except Halo3 and Alan Wake :,o( So PLEASE guide and help me. I googled like crazy but all I keep getting are replies from 2005, 6 and 7. Then I found this site on monday. Love it. Great job Mark and Nat. Been reading everything from reviews and food issues to prices and expat issues. I support the poster that said this site should be marked as a Kuwait for dummies guide lol. Thanks in advance for any help guys.

I was there yesterday morning and those deals aren’t there anymroe like what is posted. That 60GB deal is made into like 175 KD and they wouldn’t offer the 139 KD offer. I got really pissed about it. And the slaes people there are pretty annoying. I’ve always liked the ones working in fahaheel and in the main warsha in Aardiya. I think they changed their minds about their hot deal and that’s just total bullshit.

For KD139 you get a 40GB PS3 with one joypad and the movie Spiderman and here is the best part, for KD135 you get a 60GB PS3 by itself BUT it doesn’t come with warranty! The guy just called Sharq and let me talk to them. The 139KD offer is apparently for a PS3 without warranty, with once controller and one game.

I think they changed there minds due to high demand.I ended up buying the 175KD package and will eventually buy the cheaper model for the Diwania, all we need there is winning eleven.

Thanks for posting this. Now we know how The Supplying Store the official agent of Sony, promises stuff that they can’t deliver. I mean selling a product of their’s without a warranty? Are you kidding me? Just say you changed your minds or that offer has expired.

I’m at the airport, I came wanting to buy one from Sony. It’s priced at KD175 with 2 games and 2 controllers (60gb) or KD139 with one controller and a movie (40gb). Are you sure this photo was from Sony?

Yes, sorry. I meant PC>360>PS3 but you will need at least a 17″ desktop replacment if you want that action on a laptop. I beleive the video card on the PS3 is equivelent to a 7800GTX NVidia.

With PS3, you get Blu Ray and Winning Eleven. Otherwise, the 360 is superior in terms of graphics. I’m in the same boat maldeeb.
