I was at Gulf Bank today morning cashing a cheque when I noticed Gulf Bank’s Freedom Account logo. Its nearly a duplicate of MTC’s older distributors logo.

OK also RED account for students in Gulf Bank.. and Al azraq for NBK! hmmmm

Whats up with picking up colors! I know NBK Azraq idea was introduced first.

May be they’ve hired the same graphic designer who lacks creativity, so he keeps repeating what he’d copied from somewhere else? :)

what happened with old fashion creativity? marketing firms r always looking for the easy way out. im sure the add wasnt done by JWT , it was probably created by the student center at your local supermarket.

Could also be a copy of Lucent, They have a rough circle and according to legend, it was inspired by a coffee mugh stain on a napkin.

It might be only me but I find it way not a duplicate or a copy of the first logo! I’ve seen zillions of logos using the same style, that ain’t probably the case over here, same “Active” colors if you will, but definitely doesn’t look like a copy of the first one, plus the Bank logo looks better. Just my 2 bits.

It might NOT BE exactly like the Firefox logo, but u cant deny that there IS a resemblance.

the back ground is different, the order of the colors is slightly different. the center is completely different.

so TECHNICALLY.. its jus the same style n NOT the same logo.

the background is different because i scanned it from the brochure. this logo is not only the same style its very close to being identical also. look at the colors and look at the way they were twirled and if you add just a small white circle in the middle of the distributors logo then they will both look the same.

did you by any chance design the logo? lol

LOL.. if i HAD designed a logo.. it wouldve definitely been a lot lot different. n i wouldnt have POINTED OUT its similarity to another logo :D

I was jus highlightin the fact that IT ISNT THE SAME. Similar n SAME are very different terms.

since u said SAME STYLE is normal.. SAME LOGO ISNT.. i jus wanted to point out that THIS MIGHT BE SIMILAR to the other logo but TECHNICALLY isnt the SAME.

Technically being the operative word :)

we don’t copy from others Mark we were the first to start offers in the banking sector and all banks followed us then.

The logo is TECHNICALLY ‘SIMILAR’ too.
The color tones are almost / same (i guess) similar.

The title copy-cat is apt.
Although there might be an infinitesimal chance of striking at the same concept.

Where are concept based designs ?
I hardly see any creativity in Kuwait.
