In the UK there are laws against private individuals owning and keeping dangerous animals in private residences, and that special licenses are required in order just to own or keep one. I think it’s called “The dangerous wild animals act”.

Obviously we haven’t yet arrived to this level of safistication in our laws, we’re too busy with segregation laws and creating/implementing other archaic, religious laws.

Apparently thats something normal in UAE. =P

Just flickr around and you’ll find millions of pix of emaratis with their lions, tigers and cheetah.

I even asked one of my emarati friends who has one how much he got his cheetahs for and he’s like 100,000 dollars for the pair from the black market.

Not much…i guess. I’d lOve to have a tiger!

Smuggling and owning critically endangered species of animals is against international law. It takes a great deal of arrogance and pride to own these animals. These animals have to be stolen from their mothers at a very young age, and many die because of a lack of nutrition. Visit the International Veterinary Clinic and ask to see what illegal, endangered animals they are treating in the back. Then look at the CITES website ( http://www.cites.org/eng/disc/parties/chronolo.shtml ) and ask yourself why Kuwait signed in 2002 but hasn’t taken any steps to enforce the treaty. This isn’t a joke, and it’s not entertaining. To the contrary, it is a tragedy that points to the root of everything that is wrong with the human condition.
