It takes a great deal of arrogance and pride to own these animals. These animals have to be stolen from their mothers at a very young age, and many die because of a lack of nutrition. Visit the International Veterinary Clinic and ask to see what illegal, endangered animals they are treating in the back. Then look at the CITES website ( http://www.cites.org/eng/disc/parties/chronolo.shtml ) and ask yourself why Kuwait signed in 2002 but hasn't taken any steps to enforce the treaty. This isn't a joke, and it's not entertaining. To the contrary, it is a tragedy that points to the root of everything that is wrong with the human condition. I even asked one of my emarati friends who has one how much he got his cheetahs for and he's like 100,000 dollars for the pair from the black market. Not much...i guess. I'd lOve to have a tiger!
