Escalade EXT

Escalade EXT

I was at Marina Mall yesterday meeting up with a friend when I noticed Alghanim Automotive (my sponsors) had the Escalade EXT on display right outside Virgin. The EXT was my favorite version of the old Escalade and I didn’t know the new one was out yet in Kuwait. So I emailed my contact at Alghanim and asked him about the price and this is what I found out. The Escalade EXT costs KD18,500 and if you trade in your car you get 500KD back. Also the regular Escalade (ie: not pickup) which I previously took out for a drive now costs KD19,500 and according to my contact the price is negotiable. Thats around KD1,500 cheaper then when I reviewed it which is pretty cool but still way out of my league.

hahaha moocherx! I think its pretty cool looking, but I dont know how successful they will be with this vehicle in Kuwait. Pickups dont have much popularity when it comes to the expensive kind!

Marzouq surely you joke?! It seems like the Gulf Road is full of either Chevy Avalanches and suped up Ford 150s. Having said that, this is probably the only vehicle in the ‘luxury pick up’ category.

Are expats allowed to buy pickups?

I was never a fan of the Escalade…I don’t know, it was always to bulky for my taste. And all that chrome! You can make a mirror out of it.

But that’s just my opinion. =)

    sucks..just like the old one..

Ashish, Im just saying that pickups are usually cheap and people dont want to pay much, at most 10′000KD, but this is almost double that price. I know some people like its look, but I dont know how well it will do because of the price, not really because of the product itself. As a product its really good, and no truck current serves that market!

^^^abd thats why alghanem wont bring the Avalanch (spl) which looks exactly like this EXT yet 11000 KD less!
but anyways, if I get to choose between the EXT and the Escalade , I’ll go with the EXT. The new Escalade looks more like a mutilated Yukon.

it’s cool, but too expensive for what it is.

Dude … am gonna stop reading ur blog .. khalas … i am sick and tired of drooling on things i would never be able to buy lol …. I WANT!!!

Aziz, the reason Alghanim doesnt bring the Avalanche is that it isnt manufactured with GCC specs; therefore it wouldnt sell under warranty.

American companies are starting to get there act together (atleast in the US). and i believe caddis are at the forefront of this movement :D. i just love their designs ever since that CTS came out!

    istiminkiliz, thanks for that info.
Mark, I just came from alghanem and either you were misinformed, or the salesman i saw was wrong. “The Escalade EXT costs KD18,500 and if you trade in your car you get 500KD back.”
You have the price wrong. Its more than that. and there is no 500KD back. I told them about the price on this blog, they said no impossible and their prices are not negotiable

3 years ago you would find very few cars over 15,000 kd
now they are more frequent in that range
why are salaries not catching up too ?

well, first they told me its 20K, and after a while they settled with 19K and that was it. really disapointed. at first when i read 18K, i thought maybe i could have it down to 17K maybe even little more less.

Aziz. There is up to KD500 trade-in depending on the appraisal of your current car of course. But you are right, the starting price is more like 20K but it could down quite a bit depending on your negotiation skills and on how much you want it :)

  20. 20. S A F 1 | October 3rd, 2006 at 10:17 am

18.5 or 19 is probably the last price you will be able to get. So your negotiation skills are pretty good i’d say. Don’t forget it’s an Escalade ;) and it look evil too.

Too expensive!! should be around KD 15,000. American automotives should build the brand around quality first before hitting that price.

  22. 22. S A F 1 | October 4th, 2006 at 1:34 pm

Oh it is pretty high quality if you ask me. Did you drive the new Escalade?

  23. 23. Marzouq | October 5th, 2006 at 1:12 am

equalizer: the quality of the escalade is very high, you dont see any bad reports about the escalade, and I havent met anyone not happy with it, be it here or in the states. GM has put good money, and managment into Cadillac. That is why they have 3 year free service included in the price. Which I think is pretty good!

4 year FREE service and Warranty Marzouq !!
