It is a convenient time of the year for budgeting purposes - and before the summer travel season when nothing gets done. How many Shuwaikh fires can you count between now and July? There is no reason for the KFD to do anything but just watch it burn. Why risk life when they know what's going on? They should fine the owners for the damage the smoke is doing to the environment. If you check it out there has been over 5 fires recorded in the past 10 years!...all burning tires.,. Falken mostly..!! heheh! A call to 112 at 3:13 but they responded and came at 3:40 which made the fire spread faster, the distince from the fire department and the shop is less than 4km. At last there were no injuries and it took them till 8:35 to put it out. I dropped off a friend picking up his car from Al Babtain and tried to get onto Canada Dry Street, but the exit was blocked by a large fire truck. I guess tires burn pretty well.
