If you do consider ordering direct, postage is only $3 per foofpod. The reason prices are higher in shops (which is obvious really) is because stock has to cover the cost of packaging, bulk shipment, import duty and taxes, retail staff, rental of premises and risk. When you order direct, you usually don't have to pay for expensive shipping or duty and there are no distribution & reseller margins. To the shopper, it's going to be more expense. Not bad for a small online business (when I made my first order nearly a year ago there were only two of them on staff!). But yeah, they're cheaper than apple socks and much better. Your ipod rarely ever falls out (whereas the socks rarely ever stay on!) and they keep your ipod and/or powerbook nice and snug. Most Mac users I know in London prefer foofs to other cases. But they are much more expensive than they are if you buy them online. They come out to about KD4.500 online.
