Maggie….there is a slight possibility that…maybe…Kuwait is not ready for Uruj….or maybe Uruj should understand and know her audience…and the kind of people who listen to boy bands and Britney Spears kinda genre. So I see no point in raising the bar towards diversity of music played by the station. I guess she’s gonna hafta give what the people want. You see, most people (when i say most i mean the whole of kuwait) listen to the radio while driving. Now here come the tricky part…people who are on the road driving through an entire FM programme are the ones who have nothing better to do but be loitering around. Now fer people like that, commercial music is best…I hope u understand what i’m trying to convey, on the diversity of people who listen to the show and the show period.

Having grown up with Uruj, being in the same class and having lived next to her, I can honestly say she is not faking from having heard the exerpts posted by Mark. That is Uruj, allright. I don’t know what is it with all you haters. It’s nice to see someone who is notAmerican or Kuwaiti be part of the show- brings some diversity to the radio station. Some American shows here, in Arizona, are all talk. yeah talk about painful. Then there is one just dedicated to country music. OUCH. I left Kuwait 10 years ago and I miss the radio station there. Radio kuwait has come a long way from Nabil Aquil to Linda to Hani and now Uruj.
Hey nobody’s twisting your arm to listen to the show. There’s a;ways satellite radio or Ipods out there.

First of all, PEOPLE stop supporting THAT fake RJ OR DJ or whatever.
She is annoying beyond many levels, NO talent, no experience. SHE IS NOT an INSPIRATION whatsoever, Infact she is discouraging. BTW, if you think shes good then there is something wrong with YOU! Urooj whatever, go get another job, you’re getting paid for no reason. How easy is your job. get to work, say crap, and then leave, and at the end of they day, get paid! AND for everyone who is wondering why we listen to that monster on the radio. Its to actually point out her mistakes. I think you should SAVEFACE and QUIT. Today i was hearing your show, you said you hate SLOW rock, and a person dedicated a song to you, you said “EVEN THOUGH i don’t like slow rock(HUGE PAUSE)BUT okaaaaay” wasn’t that show people choice or whatever, so who asked your opinion Mrs selfish when SOMEONE gives you a compliment woman, SAY thanks. I do Shut off the Radio Because of her voice. AND i garantee there is more than one that feel the same way. Don’t force the talent, and saying “YAH” is weird. And i don’t get your Humor, or your sarcasm, you have no tone, and you DONT communicate your message to the audience. You want people to like you SAVEFACE and leave. Thanks :D

Uruj…. You play good music…..what you need to do is : Create a fake show at home…. record your self at a good bit rate….. play it back….fix what YOU think needs to be fixed…..play it back again….. fix….play it back…. fix……

I think like any job in the media, it is easier said than done.
Personally, I do not quite fancy the show(Night ride, or whatever it is called), but it is not only because of the RJ or whether her voice is a “radio” voice. At the very least, and in a very hypocritical world, she is up there every night doing something that Kuwait’s media needs so deperately. An arab woman RJ that’s not quite afraid to shell it out. Now if you look at the big picture.. Uruj could be an influential and inspirational example for other aspiring arab women who want to make it in the entertainment/media industry.. so instead of discouraging her, I think that despite her RJ capabilities, we should be supporting and encouraging her and her show.

The music? Now that’s a whole different story. My personal tastes lie in very specialized genres like the blues, Jazz, french classical, indie rock, gregorian, gothic, old skool rap.. etc. .. but then again Im a musician, so I dont expect mainstream radio to cater to my taste, which is why I dont listedn to it much.

The dj has lost it. First she comes up with a facebook profile and coz she knows people are gonna pounce on her big time she asks them to be good to her else they get one on their sorry behind.

The lady needs to drop the fake accent ! Seriously, it gets on my nerves !

There are no good djs now ! They get the latest songs when they are like weeks old around the world. All we get are the songs the Dj`s like !

I want some Bob Marley, Basement Jaxx, Jim Morrison, Remixxxxxxes !

Hello there,

Well I am new to Kuwait and after a hard day at work, I tuned into 99.7FM and heard Ms. Urooj. The songs got me singing away and I felt relaxed and ready for home, however, the voice of Ms. Urooj, well….

I am a native from the United Kindgom and can spot a fake American accent a mile away, and it was not pleasant to listen to in between songs. I assume that she is a native of the sub-continent and it was evident whilst she spoke in her ‘PAMERICAN’ accent. Honey, ditch the accent and be yourself and stop trying so hard to please, its a nasty habbit!

i love the new DJ that does the drive back.. she’s funny and upbeat in the nice kind of way, and the music she plays is awesome. reggae wednesdays and latin thursdays and stuff like that. she plays great music and keeps the talking to a minimum :)

I think being a DJ or RK or whatever is not a productive work that makes you proud. it’s a waste of time.. and why the hell do i have to listen to someone’s voice before and after each song!

Oii, does anyone know how to get into 99.7 ? I mean i wanna give it a try, i think i can play the better trance, house, dance music .. hmm wait a minute i think i would be the only RJ who would be able to do that coz all i get to hear is ” You`re beautiful…” or El Kaminando !!

Seriously guys, what if i wanna give a list of my songs to the radio station so they can check it out and give me a chance !
